This product is a by product of the coffee industry, sustainable fuel rather than a product sold for 'the smell'. The best way to use them is to build a fire the normal way, small kindling, then smaller logs etc, once the fire is established then layer the coffee briquettes on top, after that recharge the fire as per need as you would with coal. This works for me, my whole house is heated by stoves and fires, ( built in 1870). piling them on as per your video is the least heat efficient way of using such products.

Whenever I come across a few good beers I always make sure to get outside and have a fire or BBQ. It's good for the soul and the most natural 'screen' you can get. I get the kids involved with Marshmallows and Smores etc. It's as content as I see them without a phone or pad in hand

A heart warming tale for all the generations. Thanks mate

The tension was palpable as we waited to see if the briquettes would light.

I grew up in the 80s with a coal fire. It was messy, hard work & time-consuming. Now I enjoy a Dimplex Optimyst Fire, one of the best things I ever bought, all the beauty with none of the mess and work.

You might know your beers, Simon, but lighting fires is not your thing. With a bit of kindling and a good blowing tin I'd have had those flames half way up the chimney by now. My father was a fireman feeding 4 big Lancashire boilers; He taught me well! 😆 Put some proper coal on it!

Lovely fireplace ❤ let me know if they're still burning in the morning. Coal still going in the morning and rooms still warm

Also was a bit worried when you put the cat on the hotplate yesterday as the cat may jump on it when its hot.

What we need is the left over grains from the brewery's, compress it and dry it, then we can burn IPA logs in our fires, saying that it all might smell of Fleshy Blood Orange😂

Has anyone tried the fire poke in the beer custom? Interested what it does to the beer, how it tastes. Lovely fireplace, I have a similar set up where I am. Love the fire on.

Yes. Having his mother in law reviewing craft Ale and eating MacDonalds could be great for a christmas special episode.

Far too expensive. You can buy a really high quality, low ash smokeless fuel like Phurnacite that gives really intense heat for not even 75p a kilo delivered to your door.
