We FINALLY caught our 1st fish in Alaska! So much fun, we thought we'd take you along for a day of ice fishing in Alaska. We're taking a trip to town for a supply run for lumber & a much needed snow blower for the homestead. As usual, we had to knock out some homestead chores. It was a beautiful sunny day. Our two Belgian Malinois' Gunner & Bradley take advantage of the weather. They love all the open space to run & play. Thanks for joining us for another video!

DEVILLED EGG RECIPE:
1. Eggs (however many you want)
2. Mayonnaise
3. Mustard
4. Green olives (optional)
5. Dried parsley
1. Boil your eggs.
2. Strain them & refill the pan with cold water. Allowing them to sit for at least 30 minutes in cold water, makes peeling them a breeze!
3. After you've peeled your eggs, cut them in half.
4. Empty the yoke of each egg into a bowl. I like to rinse the whites of my eggs & rest them upside down on a paper towel just so they're clean & pretty before filling.
5. Smash the yolks with a fork. Smash 'em good so they're not clumpy.
6. Add your mayo & mustard. There is no exact measurement for this because it all depends on how many eggs you're working with. You don't want it too runny, but you also don't want it too thick. I'd say a cake frosting like texture is perfect.
7. You can either use a piping bag or just cut the corner of a ziplock baggy & fill the baggy with your yolk mixture.
8. Squeeze the baggy & fill your eggs with the mixture & top each egg with a green olive (optional) & sprinkle a little crushed dried parsley on top. Chill & serve!

Them deviled eggs look amazing Parker! Good job!! I make mine like that except I put a little sugar in them to sweeten them up. That lake looks awesome to be able to see to the bottom of it all frozen. Oh and congrats on catching your first dish while ice fishing.

That lake freaks me out. The snow blower reminds me when I was OOD at Base Ketchikan. I really loved using that snowblower. I would do it myself. Did not let the other watchstanders use it. I don't think they mind. LOL.

Oh cleaning off roofs was something I got very used to in NH. We had a big porch roof that the snow would not slide off of….I am glad to see Joe put his feet on the legs of that ladder while you were going up and and down. Especially when the ladder is slanted that much. Good job Joe. My husband and I spent many hours shoveling snow off on our roofs. 52 years of it! Parker is such a little gentleman. Love it! What fun you all have everyday. It is a gift to find the right person to spend your life with. I am with you Totally, I don’t like to go on a lake with ice. I did it, but was one thing I never got used to. There are always those springs coming in somewhere that don’t freeze the depth as the rest of the lake. Could not get my mind off of that. I am so excited to see all you will be doing come spring. Eggs are far and few here in Colorado also. Only Jan and look at all the snow you have already. Wow! Be safe precious family!

Great video. Two tips. When driving on the ice open your windows a bit, and no seat belts. As far as fishing. Try to be as stealthy as possible. Get rid of the big snap swivels on your lines. Less hardware is always better.

Smart decision on the tv thing. The reason they contacted you is the quality of your content, your story, how fast your channel is growing (and more!) and it will benefit them. They are cutting you off at the pass (no they aren’t! They are trying to…). Y’all just retired! You don’t want another (beyond!) full time job again and NO PRIVACY!!! Co wider it a compliment. Keep going forward. You will make way more $ in the end with doing your own thing. Y’all have got this! God is in control. Now, that’s just my opinion. I think it’s pretty obvious though.

Hi Watsons. Congrats on the fish; that's so exciting! We go trout fishing frequently at Taneycomo Lake in southern Missouri. I was taught when I first attempted to catch trout that they're finicky and can see well. The gentleman told me that if they can see the hook, they'll swim right by or take your bait by nibbling it off. He showed me to use small hooks and cover completely with bait (we use salmon eggs here for brown and rainbow trout). Maybe that'll help y'all, it definitely helped me.

Yes cleats are super helpful. My favorite type are YaxTrax. I soft of fold them and put them in my back snowpants pockets. Night and day a far as being able to walk versus sip and slide and hope to not fall!

I used to Fish with my dad, he would not let us talk at all, you have to be quiet while fishing. Talking creates vibrations and scares the fish away. We used to catch trout, salmon and steelhead. the doggies are soooooo cute! Congrats on the gateway chickens. 🐓

We are augering holes in the ice & people are driving their vehicles across the ice, there was even a guy riding his dirt bike on it. Pretty sure the talking was the least of the vibrations!🤣

Hi Watson family! I just want to tell you how much I enjoy following your family on KZbin. I only discovered you about a month ago. I watch a video every evening. I feel the love of your family and admire your love for God. Your Christian faith is amazing! Your homestead is beautiful, just perfect. You are great parents which is so uplifting to see. God bless you and keep you in your new home. Have you found a church home in Alaska? I am a WELS Lutheran married to a retired pastor. Our synod has churches in Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, Sitka and Wasilla - not sure how far you are from any of those places. May God be with you. Keep the videos coming! I am excited to see what you have in store for the homestead this summer.

Right off the bat I gotta say y'all are doing a wonderful job raising a wonderful respectful young man. He's very polite & respectful from what I've seen. Melted my heart when he opened & closed the car door for you. & you are teaching him to be self sufficient. Those eggs looked so good. You are the bomb-diggity Parker.
