Yes, yes, yes, good description of what the mountain soursop tastes like. I'm in the Caribbean .. bought it for the first time yesterday .. initially thinking it was the Custard Apple (the seller did correct me and said it's mountain sop). I was so disappointed this morning when I tasted it 😢 .. I found your video because I came looking to learn more about it .. was wondering if I got a bad one .. lol. It's something one would have to get accustomed to ... because the taste is not encouraging at all 😊. That said, when there are nutritional benefits, that's encouragement enough for me .. I love fruits.

Will do, I feel a little silly now, all this fruit is going straight to compost 😂I may chop it way back and graft Arusha and Gold onto it :D How big is your Arusha?

There are some grafted forms that people are growing up north that are apparently quite tasty, hopefully they will become available down here.

I don't think I'll bother. I don't even grow custard apples as I find them a too bland. I'll graft some diff soursops onto it I think :)

Do the regular soursop leaves have a smell to them when rubbed? I’ve a tree that I can’t decide whether true soursop or mountain soursop

Can eat every day?

Hey, it’s cool to see a review on the fruit, it looks good. But I see the taste isn’t as good. We’re on the east coast nc. But it gets way colder here, so we can’t grow either, I was looking into cold hardy Annonas like the mountain soursop, but it’s still too cold here for that not so good tasting fruit

I couldn't stop laughing at the ump comments. I have this mountain I think I'm going to graft onto it.

please please please sow all the montana seeds!! if any of the seedlings turn out to be the best of both worlds, then you will be the tropical fruit hero of the century!

Are you every day soursop?

It's kind of amazing that you chose to grow A. montane instead of A. reticulata or A. squamosa.
@mytropicalfruitforestlife Жыл бұрын
I have squamosa growing, this was a larger tree purchase to block my neighbours veranda view :)

the leaves are more medicinal than soursop some say, but who knows tbh no tests have been done like that on herbal medicine
@mytropicalfruitforestlife Жыл бұрын
This is what a local nursery botanist told me also. I will try making a tea from it and compare it to the soursop tea which I have already tried.

I plan on grafting 2 varieties onto it. They are still small so will take cuttings in 6months or so.
