You would think the council could manage to provide a place for a tent, somewhere relatively safe, (I am imagining visited by police & community/charity patrols,) with a port-a-loo & port-a-shower & drinking water tap & then maybe help the community to build a community space & kitchen. I very nearly ended up sleeping rough. Came from a background where I was sexually abused & repeatedly beaten unconscious & out into a world, shaking & sweating with PTSD where there was no-where to go to for help. There should be somewhere open 24hrs for advice & a place to sit out of the weather at least. I went through sexual & violent assaults & there was no-where to go. I have a brain-injury due to trauma to & there I was leaving home with no-where to get advice. I was so disabled mentally that I could not even find out train times because I either could not understand the responses or could not work out what exactly to ask to elicit the information I needed. That is how disabled I was. I am still very vulnerable. I often get phoned by four scammers a day. I have somewhere to live now but I am on my own & do not feel safe.

You don't realise what a strong lady you r now. You got yourself out of a absolutely horrible situation. I wish I could give you a huge hug and say that you r not on your own, you can allways text me. I have been through domestic violence and have can idea how afraid and alone you have felt and still feel. You are a very brave lady. I am sending loads of love to you xxxxx Gail Wales uk

I knew a nasty spiteful kid in school who ended up on the streets cuz his own family finally disowned him after his umpteenth prison stretch. I saw him under a blanket in town. It made my Xmas. So homelessness isn't _always_ a sad story.

great film, cheers for sharing. the council lady is avoiding the truth with her answers. i dont understand. pulling tents down is not working with the homeless people. unless the council is providing a flat or somewhere to stay the same night.just my opinion more should be done, especially for the ones who have worked in the past and paid tax and na. thankyou for this documentary.

They should provide somewhere safer to put tents. I know sleeping in a tent in winter is not ideal but if they had people sleeping in tents, in a place where they were allowed to stay, then charities would know where to bring bedding & hot water bottles & hot food. I have slept out in winter & if you have good bedding & a hot water bottle it can be O.k.

Didnt the council woman dodge the question on tents, being removed,

I mean I get what the council lady is saying in a way. Being homeless is a multi-layered problem, but with some peoples issues you have to meet them where theyre at, and truthfully some of the people shown and not shown will likely stay on the streets for life. It doesnt make them bad people. The world can be an amazing place and a horrible place and we all have different ways of coping.

I'd love to at some point, maybe this Summer after I've finished my MA. It could be tricky logistically but hopefully Latest TV would be happy to help me.

There are lots of schemes to help people train and get work. Did you manage to get a career doing something that supports your lifestyle without any training, education, finance or opportunity?
