Jane Williams is the Founder/CEO the Magpie Project. Having previously worked in journalism, charity comms and fundraising - Jane first started exploring the needs of women with young children in Newham in autumn 2016. A small team including Kay Rowe children's centre, health visitors, Shelter, and London Black Women's project first six-week pilot of the Magpie Project took place in June 2017, it became a charity in December 2017. Since then, she has been working alongside mums and minis to create a place that meets their needs for safety, security, play, joy and practical support.

She founded, and is now employed as the lead of their Rights Experience Advocacy Change team and spearheads their No Child in a Home without a Kitchen campaign.
