We live here in Binghamton and see this getting larger along our river it's sad I know two people that are homeless alot of people say it because of drugs the two people I know that are home both work and do not do any drugs it's do to the amount of rent has went up in this area has gotten crazy

I had no idea the situation with the homeless was so dire along the PA rivers. My son enjoys trains & just being near tracks can be scary. We were in Phillipsburg once & while waiting for the train I saw people crossing the tracks & going down to the river. Carrying shopping bags. Then it dawned on me. Found out they referred to it as Camp Hideaway 😢

The solution is putting dumpers with signs asking to throw out garbage until affordable housing, drug treatment centers, and other non-profit organizations can come together to find a solution. I also think Geisinger should be contacted to see if they could assist in any way.I just shared this video as I did the first one on our FB community page.

I want to go deeper and seek volunteers to help me clean this up in our area. I want to coordinate with those who can get us dumpsters and while the summer lasts I want to put a dent in it. There maybe folks camping willing to pick up every day . Alot of travellers do work along the way… should normalize some kind of punishment for such behavior. Or why not catch them before the homelessness alot of old houses around needing work also, teaching how to take care of the place called earth.

I'm an artist living in scranton. I'd like to help, through my art, and otherwise. I have no money to throw at it, which is probably a more effective way to help, quite frankly. Please reach out and let me know how I can do that. I'm much better a thinker, than an artist. Obviously big government and business wont help this issue. Good luck seeing this comment. @@WhatAWeekPodcast Every single one! Scranton Housing, All the Shelters. I have friends who were homeless here. Plus I'm 60 and disabled for years! Facing a homeless situation myself. There is no help for an immediate move security plus first months rent or more abd movers. Don't talk to me about resources in Scranton! There is no help! I called all over and was told everything is a wait or because I have an income of SSD no help! Go ahead prove me wrong!

And blame Catholic Social Services.... they're terrible at running a homeless shelter. They've got 6 beds for women, and 20 for men. You only get 30 days with a county ID, unless you've got an income, and 3 days outside the county, and 0 days if it's invalid.

The benefit is that it sets a somber tone to set the mood to the tune of the emotion that so much of our area feels. So many of us feel terrible and disgraced by seeing our area get like this. The people are more and more homeless, addicted, and hopeless; they need help. The trash build up from struggling people living in these terrible conditions has gotten so bad that It has started to affect a river system that just started to revitalize, clear up, and begin to host fish and other wild life again. The music while "creepy" as you put it; is also free use and you can find it in the description of the video, as well as the KZbin audio library, just in case you have a project you'd like to release.
