Used to be in the RCAF (Cdn. Air force) and let me tell you, maneuvering that copter down into that wee valley of what I am quite sure is an abundance of particularly tough winds had me on the edge! I also live in Vancouver, BC so, I am well acquainted with the strong winds in some of these coves. Well done! I was actually shocked to see the copter come down to the victim, as opposed to lifting him the 50ft or so to the copter...excellent piloting skills! Just goes to show you what our amazing men and women do when their expertise is needed. Bravah!

Even if it was Air Ambulance and Hospital Stay or taking by Ambulance if a person is Homeless they wouldnt have to pay and reasonable medical Care will still be Provided. Alot and Mean ALOT of Hospitals have signs in Public view stating that Reasonable Medical Care will be Provided even if Homeless or low income at No Charge to the Person. To clarify for everyone, Search and Rescue is an emergency service and is free to patients almost anywhere in the world, funded by taxes and public fundraises. The only time airlifts and transports are not free is when there is a secondary option the patient can choose with exceptions to some low-staffed or equipped services. Any first response service detailed to preserving life will not charge unless they are being used outside their primary purpose.

IMaximusDMI Search and rescue is free in the US, private air ambulance is not but it is free to call for help just like firefighters are free and police is free. Its paid for by the agency that runs the nearest RCC ie the Air Force, coast guard, or state SAR division in this case the sheriff’s department. If you have told anyone that they will get charged for this service you need to correct yourself.
