Stuffing the food in your pockets is what sold it, I volunteer at a homeless shelter sometimes and I wouldn't have bought that gag for a SECOND otherwise. It's funny that he thought his phone would indicate he's not homeless. A shocking amount of the homeless do their best to maintain a cell phone; it's the easiest way to stay connected, find work, sometimes find places to sleep, etc. Such a strange world we live in where this technology is so accessible, widespread and affordable that it's seen as a sensible investment for the less fortunate.

Homie has such a dope mix of content, all of which are truly great. Shelter near me does everything homemade and gets the nicest ingredients donated. They invite everyone to eat there too even if you're not homeless but if you're not homeless then they ask that you help prepare the food or set up or something like that. I volunteered a few times in the kitchen. Never ate there but the ingredients were terrific tons of produce and fresh meat and even some organic stuff.

That's so sweet! I worked for a company that would let the owners (is that the right word?) of the local food shelter come over to pick the veggies themselves. Unfortunately they were really unpleasant people who eventually refused to come over because they found it too gross. Last year they got new owners and I already saw them come over once, I really hope they'll keep that up.

I volunteered at a homeless shelter and ate the food. It was like cafeteria food. The main chef had previously been a sous chef at a restaurant. The food was donated by the local grocery stores- whatever they didn’t use, and private donors. He made due with what he had. It obviously wasn’t gourmet but it was eatable if you’re hungry enough.
