That has to be positively THE most disgusting-looking, dirtiest, most out-of-the-way subway station I've ever seen anywhere. No one would ever use it without wearing a full HAZMAT suit including the hood. Even for a relatively hidden station that few people would ever use aside from graffitti artists and "Rock -n- Roll" fans (not "Rock" or "Metal" but "Rock -n- Roll" -- like the classic "doowop" music from the 50's), the whole area is creepily deserted. Normally in a city the size of Brooklyn, NYC, some folks would be out. A few gangbangers, some dope pushers hanging out on the corner. Someone grabbing a soda from one of those machines (just ignore the nasty street hygiene), a small knot of people talking over cigarettes, a couple finishing up a date, a stray dog rummaging through the garbage, maybe a "lady of the night" since it seems the type of neighborhood for them. But at least there's a low-effort jump scare that everyone BUT the security officer (you, the player) knew was coming. Chairs in the waiting area that look as if they were recycled ruins from Katrina or maybe even 911 -- and who can resist the lovely black sludge oozing down the white tiled walls from seemingly nowhere (Hell? Abyss?) as your hollow, empty footsteps echo like gun shots through the unnatually empty tunnels. There are big silver padlocks and chains large enough to keep out warewolves and yet the security officer -- who doubles as an electrician since a city the size of Brooklyn can't afford to hire both a security officer AND an electrician -- apparently does NOT have a ready-at-hand key to access these darkened areas of the route. Especially since the sparks make an unholy racket above and beyond the normal buzzing noises. Such an empty and desolate place, you'd have to be an utter moron not to ... Boo! ( 9:00 ) there it is. C'mon now. You didn't get taken by that ... did you?

From the same devs who made Amenti (their latest release based off egyptian pyramids, on the channel too if you haven't seen it). I feel they have improved alot with their environments, ambience and jumpscares vs this game they released last year. Perhaps their next will be even better.

Of all the Darkphobia games that have been released Homeless is easily my favorite as I just love the gritty, dirty and urban setting with the subway plus the abandoned apartment buildings that so perfectly captures that 90s horror-thriller vibe.

you can't be serious with the jumpscare right before 9:00 ... that was so low effort and loud... what were they thinking... 🙃

Reminds me of Alan Wake 2's out-of-the-blue jumpscares. And I looove AW2, but man, are those jumpscares annoying and uncalled for.
