My caseworker keeps putting off my temporary accommodation and I am homeless since Sunday. She told me I need to give her till tomorrow or day after to help me. Smh 🤦‍♀️

I've been at this temporary accommodation (hostel) for 3 years now, there are few others too with that timescale. Now after january 17th the staff here are saying you could get a call from council anyday and you will be sent to a private rented place, if you refuse they will remove you from housing and you're left to find your own place. Of course many of us have reasons for why it took so long, but is this true will they just force you into a private rented property? for me i had to accept a flat (not suitable) and acted but i feel the years waiting for a house was wasted. But yeah are they doing this? and can they just force people to private rent? someone from Birmingham City council told me they can't force you into private rent. Yet the management here at this hostel say we can force you. Is it threats/bluff?

Hi Sid, i'm going to try to do a video about this asap, although because of the way Birmingham do things, i can't be sure exactly what their reasoning is. I'll try to get the video out tomorrow morning

@@homelessnessbestpractice I split with my girlfriend who cheated, I went into hmo housing's in her area of Birmingham worried where I was going to sleep that night, I clean my mess an spring clean the house, toilets windows sinks Bath only to come home to more mess, landlords of hmo housing don't care in Birmingham I asked my council from another area to house me there cus I am from there originally I've been to citizens advice, barrier in face deal by email they tell me not getting back to me, Supported mental health in my area I tried that route, They tell me I needed a social worker from council to refer A year waited for social worker at Birmingham City Council. for Social Worker to come out to my rodent ridden address to tell me they don't deal with housing. I speak to my mental health centre, for foreigner's to not understand me An if I leave my HMO nightmare home. I am classed as intentionally homeless I have mental health trying to stay calm Destroying my mind Feel so alone What do I do please anyone on here Internet n private rent don't get back to me either

I am being evicted on 21st March and been made a non priority decision. I am appealing against it and they have given me until 4th April to send in more info. Would i be entitled to interim accommodation while they reassess my application?

Hi do you have any videos regarding when full housing duty is owed and how someone is notified and about the 56 day period? Also if you made a video regarding bidding and when someone is homeless when and how they get priority when bidding on the housing register would be a good topic to cover Thank you for all your videos it’s very helpful!
