Currently rebuilding a homelite XL i got for free. My fuel tank is missing the check valve and i had no idea what the hole was for. Thank you, now i just need to find the part.

Good video, very detailed and useful info. Thank you I have a Homelite XL a customer brought in. The saw is sucking bar oil onto the combustion chamber and blowing the oil out the muffler and will not oil the bar. Do you know what the problem is with this saw. Oil line's not routed correctly maybe or bad rings? The piston& cylinder wall looks pretty good. If you could help me with this i would very thankful for your time and help. If not thanks anyways. Johnny it is probably because of a duck bill check valve that goes in the tank from the line from the crank case if it is that style, or a bad diaphragm on the diaphragm type pump design.

You have to line it up in the trigger and carb and put the engine in at the same time. Sounds hard, but it’s real easy
