Congrats to the two operators Justin and John! Much more interesting than the contest qso's! This is real radio amateurism!😊

Great video. With your excellent ears, who needs a cw filter. My brain was muddled by the weekend chorus of test, test, test. 73 de Steve M0KOV

Love It. I tried building one a couple years ago but never got it to oscillate. I’m going to give it another go. I had 27 tubes , but maybe they were bad. Thanks for the great content! 73

A really interesting video as always Justin. I have a book full of these old retro schematics somewhere. Will have to dig it out and give it a try sometime. 73... M0DAD

It's quite nice. I like valves. Very busy with that contest 2 Watts is plenty. I got a 220 mile report from a SWL in the Netherlands when I used a Pixie at 350 mW out on 5.262 MHz when in QSO at 180 miles. I built a one valve 61BT xtal tx. I now want to make a one valve regen rx and have several PM2DX type valves. G4GHB

OMG, she’s done it again! Well done 🎉 At least she hasn’t got the awful pessimist, Dr Jo Appleby getting up set this time 🤣👍

Thanks Justin, I will have to dust off some tubes and give them a go. I do have a compendium of early "Modern Electrics" publishings put together by Derby radio club in 1912 With some beautiful radio designs. There is even a B/W plate of the Broadway lights first being switched on for the first time. Cool times.

Sadly a lot of those 1920s power triodes are snatched by the high end crowd, not making it easier to find them...

2W is really low for those tubes. In 1920 they had housing on their gear.
