As a small engine mechanic and welder I have to say you did great fabrication work. You are obviously mechanically inclined and looking forward to this project as it's giving me ideas for my garden.I feel my back from yesterday's digging spuds.

Thanks 👍When you're poor and have lots of junk kicking around, you learn to fix stuff, and, over time collect a vast amount of tools. When I was young I'd take apart all my toys to see how they worked haha.

This is the type of projects that I would like to do. What type of welder do you use? I have never welded before but want to learn. Thanks.

The welder is a mastercraft wire feed welder. It's on sale right now for 229. Money well spent in my opinion. Plugs into a regular wall socket. I bought it a few years ago just for this exact project, but never did get around to it. Took me a while to get used to the wire feed though, as I was used to using a stick welder. Welding is like caulking only much slower. Just have lots of junk steel around to practice on and you'll be fine.

Haha, as we get older we need to find ways to work smarter. With 600ft of potato rows, we just can't physically do it anymore. I'm just hoping it does the trick. Thanks for watchin.

Yes, if you mean Fiona, we escaped it almost entirely here on the eastern edge of Newfoundland. On the west coast, however, they did not fare so well. A lot of damage, homes and infrastructure destroyed, very sad indeed. Thank you for your concern!
