Has anyone tested the 3 diy incubator cheap hacks next to each other? There are 3 I have seen that a lot of people say work better than the expensive incubators. 1.)Heat tape w/metal tape incubator 2.)Pond heater incubator 3.)Heat cables w/ metal tape Do any of these work better than the rest? This is on a budget hacks to breed reptiles and work your way up to a fridge to create an actual working diy incubator.

Honestly the incubator works best. It maintains the temp & humidity perfect. Its safer than having plastic tubs under heat lamps. And These are hacks arent meant to be longterm.. I did all this DIY stuff but its never longterm. it works until something better comes along. Like when I have an extra unexpected clutch of eggs while the incubator is full. I love DIY stuff but its not always safest!. Buying the incubator is long term when done right. a lot safer & easier. We have had 4 fire scares using the tubs full of water & heater diy. the tubs & wires have melted from heat lamps. I broke bad bought a incubator several years ago and I will never go back to diy. Swear, spending a little money is best sometimes. saves you a ton of headaches. The heat lamp works best for me but again, they are super hot. They have to be to keep a 85 degree temp. they tend to melt burn wires causing house fires. You have to watch them 24/7

Ok I did this exact setup. It was a last minute setup for me and was t expecting my dragon to lay. My temp is right at 84 and steady. But my humidifier is showing I have 99% humidity. How can I fix this?

i have a plastic container and i just want to make sure that is it really alright to place the heater directly on the container? Because im thinking the heater might be able to damage the container.
@BaughbeSauce3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can. And most heaters like that need at least 6 inches of water as they can overheat easily in shallow water.

@@BaughbeSauce Exactly, thats why i am buying another incubator today. I refuse to risk house fire over saving money & diy hacks. some of these hacks come with danger and ppl never talk about that or the safety involved.

That was 7 years ago lol its rude but a better point would be Dont breed animals or reptiles if you cant afford proper care & equipment. These animals/reptiles end up in shelters, rescues & let go in the wild where they cant survive. I own a Rescue in NC. I get daily drop offs. SInce Covid, those drop off numbers have tripled. Most of the rescues are purebred. that humans purposely bread and then couldnt or wouldnt properly care for them. sadly it happens even more today
