Love seeing homebrewers show the simplest way to brew beer. Also, I think it’s awesome that you didn’t show bottling beer and instead showed kegging. Kegging is so much simpler and effective in carbonating beer rather than bottling.

Have you considered cold crashing your fermenter in a fridge, once the beers final gravity is stable for 2 days you can put the whole thing in a cold fridge for 5 days. Then without moving the fermenter open and siphon off the top. No need for gelatin, also you can add the hops to a sterilised muslin cloth bag.. helps with sediment. Great job, it's nice to see other kits being used. In Australia we mostly see Cooper's, Morgan's or or Black Rock tins. Some of these brands have online stores that might be useful to those watching this that can't find these products locally.

Best way to keep the beer easy to clarify is to use the right yest with right amount of yeast for the batch size. And when leaving the batch to clear, the time is essential. Longer time (in fridge) keeped, clearer the result when bottleing/kegging. And easiest then is "force carbonation" to keep the juice flat until get it to be served.

I see a hazard in using cold tap water to achieve final volume. Beer became famous because the entire volume was boiled in the brewing process thus sterilizing waterborn pathogens. The University Schools promoted drinking Beer above drinking water because it was safer. I would suggest using R.O. Water to achieve final volume for anyone attempting this methodology of home brewing.

Hi. Where I live, we have top quality spring water in the tap water. But I totally agree using high quality water in the beer. Water is the main ingredient, and will have huge impact of the final quality and taste of the beer.

@sergeredfield62742 жыл бұрын
If you get your hands on 95% ABV ethyl alcohol, it surely can work as vodka concentrate. You don't even need to go through all this hustle, just add 600ml of water to 400ml of concentrate, leave it open overnight, close the lid, let it settle for a day or two and enjoy. Update. Just make sure it wasn't denatured, the additives used for it make the whole thing poisonous.

@InTheVise2 жыл бұрын
@@elfillari I have used lager yeast several times, and fermented cold. But I usually just use the yeast that comes in the kit to save some money and time. Actually, it is not so big difference in taste. Some lager kits comes with lager yeast as well, but not the kit I use in this video. I have made a lot of different extract beer kit (100+), and never had any problems with the yeast. The yeast that comes in these kits are so underrated by self-appointed “beer experts” who probably haven’t taste this kind of yeast!
@elfillari2 жыл бұрын
@@InTheVise all true! The yeast is yeast, some ferment in colder and some in warmer conditions. The main idea is to use the most suitable in each condition and in each batches just to get best results ment to be with suggested circumstances. Me myself I've found that best results with beers also became with the yeasts of winery. Especially the yeast evaluated to be used with sparkling wines will leave to any ale type beers most neutral taste even without filtering of any kind. And then the best/easiest way to clear the beer naturally is to leave the batch in fridge fiew days before bottleing or kegging.
