My understanding was that all the old stories about roasting chestnuts was using the American Chestnut, which are pretty much all gone now (though there is big work going on to bring them back). All we have now, and have had for many years, is the Chinese Chestnut. I've been told that these chestnuts are just not the same for roasting. I grew up with the Chinese Chestnuts and we eat them raw, within a couple days of picking them up off the ground. Within a week or so they'll have worms. But, eating them raw is one of my favorite things around October, and always tells me Fall and hunting season is coming.

Man I have never enjoyed seeing two people together than you guys. In my mind you have already been married for years. The content could be bad or good it doesn't matter because that kind of energy when you are around each other just outshines whatever it is you are talking about. I will try that eggnog though. I love Rum. I'm curious if its good with Mead too.
@martyhenschel7145Ай бұрын
The trick to good tasting chestnuts is the amount of eggnog consumed first.

When i was a kid, we had a bird that loved to sing, his name was Chet.. It was Christmas time and he was singing, he would walk on his pertch , back and forth just singing away. Soon Chet was singing a little different, all most sounded like he was in pain. We got up ti check on him. He was singing, Chestnut roasting on a open fire, but as we go closer, we realized, he was sitting over several candles burning away. Then we realized, he was singing, Chets nuts roasting on an open fire. 😊😂

@MrMrbowhunter00121 күн бұрын
when you eat chestnuts drink lots of read wine or port wine to get them down lol
@mikemiraglia7469Ай бұрын
You gotta roast them in the oven no butter or anything you just put a slit in the shell and bake them. I used to eat them all the time as a kid I kinda like them they didn’t taste like corn meat Jeffrey my dad just loved roasted chestnuts he’s not with us anymore, butI don’t know. Maybe it is an acquired taste, but they were always good. Crunchy the way you guys cooked them look damn good too. Send them up here. I’ll eat them.😂😂
