I don't understand why you felt the need to lift the boom up every time you split?

It was my first time using the splitter, so I was more focused on watching the wedge slide across the beam. So I wanted a better view of the wedge just to make sure it slid upside down without snagging on anything. When I’m splitting for use, I’d leave log on ground entire time unless moving log.

Great job. The only issue I see is the hours you will be putting on your excavator. Seems like a poor trade off compared to a cheap gas motor.

I will only use it to split the large rounds that I can not lift up onto my primary log splitter. If you see my log splitting videos, some rounds are so large that I needed the mini just to lift onto main splitter. This is just to save my back so I can make them liftable. Hahah.

@@Letsfixthings That's why I made one too - when in my forest, the 80+ lbs logs are breaking my back! I already have the excavator in the forest to lift the logs to chain saw them, so why not split the large ones to get them into the wagon to bring back to the barn.

you are losing power to the splitter when you are moving around up and down all over the place while engaging the splitter. and why didn't you hook the hoses up to the THUMB ? the machine has a valve and auxiliary hook ups for this .
