Dude, it’s called shrink tube, shrink wrap, heat wrap everywhere in the USA, I think he must be from Europe or somewhere else where they speak funny English!!! 🤷🏻♂️, just joking, but really you are right, and I think everywhere in the US it’s called what you said.

@MichaelYee1235 жыл бұрын
If you need to STRETCH the tubing, a LONG NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS works the BEST! Insert the head of the pliers into the tube and then open the pliers. The handles of the pliers give you the leverage and control you need to stretch the tube without breaking/tearing.

Reading some of the comments here are some additional tips as I have been doing this same thing for mine. ***IF YOUR CORD IS NOT WORKING THIS PROCEDURE WILL NOT WORK.**** 1. you can also heat shrink tube sold in all home improvement stores in the electrical section with all the electrical tools. Comes in a bag with pre-cut lengths in various diameters. 2. use a high quality high heat electrical tape like a 3M product. The heat created in these charges is higher than you think will and will melt the adhesive over time making the tape lose adhesion and come off. (PRO TIP: 3m does make a white electrical tape.) 3. EASY EASY EASY on the heat! Too little is better than too much. You can always heat more. Super easy to melt the cord jacket and the wires. 4. If you finish the job and the cord does not work (and it did before you followed this procedure) it's either because you melted the wires or broke the exposed wires. ( I told you to go easy on the heat!) 5. Lastly, this is not a permanent fix but will buy you more time. After a while the heat shrink will come loose and or the electrical tape will lose adhesion and the fix will slide down the cord. My experience under heavy use is it will buy you another 3ish months on average. Total cost for all supplies will be right around $10 bucks. If you use 7 cords at the same time like I do this will save you a mint at $20.00 a cord.

heatshrink never loose. I have used these things for 3 years and they are still in place, tight and strong. the key is, get the right diameter of your shrink tube. using oversized tube will make loosey shrink and will detach.

it came like that, i think its oxidized, i scratched it a litle with a needle and the black thing dissapeard, but affter a few weeks it got black again, anyway, no problem, it works perfect !
@michaelliu32718 жыл бұрын
Yes, the clad layer to prevent the connect Pin oxidizing will fade off after long time use, then the connect Pin begin oxidizing. sometimes the black line will cause the cable not working, then what you need do is scratching it.

stunning that it's come to this. Apple should be saddened by a guy taping and melting shit to his cable because of a total design (over function) fail and outrageous replacement cost. you would think they would get tired of seeing ratty cables attached to their aesthetically beautiful hardware all over the place, but meh.
@nolongerjarofsan.d4 жыл бұрын
Enki their dumb ass design is purposeful. They don’t care about durability. If that was their goal, they wouldn’t make a profit because people wouldn’t have to go buy a $20 charger. They want people to be aesthetically pleased so they’ll throw away their wack ass charger to go buy a new one.

that's why we seal it with shrink wrap. there's one flaw on this video : the shrinkwrap isnt long enough. it has the electrical tape sticking out about 1cm. it will get messy sticky thing. Should've get the shrinkwrap longer till it covers the tape adhesive.

It should be noted that if you repair an iPhone charger the repair is only temporary and is not a permanent repair the cord itself decays over time which exposes the colored wires and even the copper wire strands underneath the colored wires eventually overtime your iPhone charger cord will decay until your left with just the plugs so guys always buy a new charger cable don't just keep repairing your old one also this is a great way to fuck up your iPhone because when the Copper wire strands are exposed on the negative and positive wires it can cause a short and seriously damage your iPhone or worse set your house on fire

Pls dnt use those type of cables it may lead you to replace the whole battery of the phone! Especially fr iPhone batteries i think! Well the problem is if u use such cables the battery becomes bulged nd start to become too hot!! Like an iron box! Be careful, fr the sake of 30$ you need to invest 80$. Try to change the cables ASAP! I have experienced this, nd got to know the cause fr this through a apple executive! So I thought it might be helpful fr some of u!!
