You may want to take some small translucent zip ties and put 2 or 3 per section of LED in case the adhesive ever fails and it would be invisible from a distance

I’d do this with wood instead to make it easier to mount to ceiling and lighter

If you perform other welding services with the same quality as welding this frame with LEDs, I would never let you do anything. The idea itself is not bad.

would you mind providing a link to the led strip you used? Having trouble finding it. Thanks.

It would be so cool if you covered the wall in black velvet or painted it with one of those ultra-black paints. (They are about the same darkness)

When you need to use a machine that's way over priced to cut plywood. Then make something that way over priced and heavy to put up. Much easier and lighter ways to do this.

I think he used DC powered LED's. You can use 230V AC strips, also makes wiring easier.

I wonder if you could do the same with some black/painted pvc and LED strips
@Hellsong89
@Hellsong89 2 жыл бұрын
@@sydneyp.2320 Long as its rigid enough to support the weight anything is fine for it. Cut peaces of metal or plastic to mount on the back from sheet material and you can screw it from the wood peaces as well, making it really cheap and quick specially if you have access to laser cutter.
@BoraHorzaGobuchul
@BoraHorzaGobuchul 2 жыл бұрын
@@sydneyp.2320 you could. But led strips like to be cool and it's kinda hard to do it without metal. If steel is not your thing you could use aluminium

You should invest the money and buy a real saw. It will greatly simplify construction. Also for the other projects.

Well good job I suppose, but English is not your first language apparently. ' Details ' is not a word one would use like you did. I think you were thinking of ' dovetails ', which would fit and be more applicable.

@sFeral 2 жыл бұрын
obviously not as bad as you think if he managed to move this structure around without it bending out of shape at the welds or falling apart entirely, but then again I don't weld, I'm just pretty sure he wouldn't go through all this only to get an unsafe final product.
@jakefoley9539
@jakefoley9539 2 жыл бұрын
@@sFeral If it sounds like we're going out of our way to bash the guy, I assure you we're not. I'm in awe of his creativity and fabrication ability, but his shortcomings with welding, specifically surface prep, are something that have been consistently been pointed out by multiple people since the Quadra series first began. I certainly hope it doesn't result in any long term issues, but in the event that it does, we already know the cause.

Orrrrrr you could just spend 600.00 usd and get the proper safe kit. Don’t know if I’d like to spend 12hrs just to make a product that can easily be assembled in 10 mins.
