Homemade Press Brake

This is my homemade press brake, built with 2x4 tube steel and angle iron. I use a 20 ton air/hydraulic bottle jack for the ram. It is capable of bending 1/2" flat bar

Love it! Been wanting to make one for a while. I think I will start soon. Do you have any suggestions or things you would have done differently? I’m thinking removable dies so I could bend a radius onto steel as we’ll when needed. Have you tried any 1/2” plate? Great work man!

OK boss, I knew if I looked on KZbin id find someone who has already done it...... here is my thought....I want to build a full 48" finger brake kinda like what you have done. it would be used primarily to bend up .125 T6 6061 aluminum for boat building (lids and stuff). would love to see if there is anything else you would have done different?

Looks well made! So how wide a piece of 1/4" or thicker will it still press into the 90 degree ?

Get-The-Lead-Out.45 it will do full 90 degree bend on 48” of 1/4” plate!

wouldnt the square tube the hydrolic sits on be stronger if it were up and down instead of laying on its side.u know like wen carpenters instal tgere joists to make there floors witch keeps the home structualy safe its not laying on its side.just my opinion.also maybe ghe u coukd bend plate instead of this 2 inch piece right in the middls were ints the strongest.the squere tube looks like its already bending
