Older video i know. But if you want some good tires as far as traction but not tearing up the lawn real bad. You should get a set of 22x11x8 square knobbies. They are amazing. They come out factory on hinda 185's and 200's. Hell i think even the 200's as well. I have about 7 hinda 3 wheelers. Thats the only tire i run. I even have them on all my kawnmowers lol. Anyway that miniskir is awesome buddy. Great job

So funny how the clip opens with you harassing your dog with it after all the detailed hard work that went Into it !!! This build has encouraged me to re enroll in the mechatronics program and take hydraulics!!! I plan to use my machine shop and 3d scanning to incorporate some wild stuff. You should look into the newly released 3d scanners, they are a LIFESAVER for reverse engineering and product design. I've got some projects with the different models on my channel check em out! You'll likely want one 🤣

Impressive. Those Bobcat Advantage Videos which describe how their machines are engineered might be of inspiration to you. I think a 25 hp would be minimum for productivity. The pushing power of a tracked machine is superior, but it tears up the ground with the wakes it leaves when turning. You might need some more gnarly tires for better traction. Tires do soften the ride a bit.

An approach I used was right/left Hydro-gear zero turn units to power ground drives with a small aux hydro pump for arms and bucket. The zero turn units are smooth and 100% self contained. Surplus center often sells these. They require a vertical shaft engine of course.
@dougkelly8956
@dougkelly8956 Жыл бұрын
I've looked at those units. Presumably you used 2 and reversed the linkages? or just a single with idler wheels on one axle?
@terrylutke
@terrylutke Жыл бұрын
@@dougkelly89562 units with a #60 chain drive to power the 'dead' wheels. I used the ZT residential series hydros and worked them hard in dirt, eventually one side was noticeably weaker than the other. The ZT's were sort've throw a-ways I think. A better choice would've been 3400 series commercial hydros. Another issue is that the skid had about 10mph max ground travel with 16" tall wheels, which can be good but it also could've been chain geared slower for more dirt grading push. It had 500lb+ draw bar pull, which seemed like a lot of push for something so small.

I love the mini skid loader. Was wondering if you had a chance to do the vid on parts list and thinks you would do different. I need something similar to remove large combine tires off a trailer (less than 30" high) I think this would work perfect but what is the weight capacity? Looking forward to seeing more.

@TRoutdoors2021 Жыл бұрын
Awesome, yeah it’s on the list for future videos just been a pretty busy lately. I did post pictures on my channel of the pumps and drives. I think it can lift about 650-7 with me on the back and no extra weight I have yet to max it out but I feel like there’s nothing stopping it . about 450 if I wanted to step off the machine

@@TRoutdoors2021 Thats awsome. I need to hit just about 1000k pounds but only lift it about 2 inches to get it off the trailer. So a little extra weight for a counter balance and thinks may work perfect. Good luck in the next vid can not wait to see it.

Obviously aggressive tires will make the machine more useful. I'd begin by talking to the Surplus Center hydro tech guy about damping the drive controls, they have some knowledge. Danfos might be helpful as well.

@terrylutke
@terrylutke Жыл бұрын
@@TRoutdoors2021 Of course, you have a nice working machine, there's no point in changing things. I'm suggesting that new builders might want to look into Z-drives as an option compared to drive motors, motor controls, big oil reservoir and hoses. Hydro-gear Z drives are quite easy to work with and very reliable.

Impressive build 😁 How does the 5spool valve work when driving. Can you use more than 1 function at a time. Does it shut the flow to 2,3,4,5 if u use 1 at full opening ? Noobie in hydraulics
@TRoutdoors2021
@TRoutdoors2021 Жыл бұрын
It does pretty well you have to be good at controlling it for sure but you can use both the drive motors and another option if you wish. I wish I would have gotten a bit better valve body that I could put motor spools in for the drives and left the other 3 load holding but you get used to it after a while

Hi, i see you were in conversation with gordonr on my tractor forum about his ramrod copy. I see he used 18.7cu in(875nm of torque) motors and a 12gal/min pump and yours is 9.8cu in(370nm of torque) with 10gal/min pump - that seems to be a big difference(although he did say his was over kill)- do you find yours lacking torque? If so, i may find a motor with a torque figure in the middle of the two. Apart from the motor valves did you find anything else you would change?? Sorry for all the questions!!
