I've learned a great deal from this video. Turbine applications gobble a great deal of steam as you demonstrated. Pennsylvania Railroad discovered this with the short-lived S2 turbine. A condenser on the output would be a great "next" project, and a steam governor to follow. I'd like to see the turbine itself, just to enjoy how you constructed it. Wonderful project. Well done!

Thanks appreciated. I have to take it apart soon to check the internals and will take some photos of the inside construction. It's VERY steam hungry, even building up the pressure in the boiler as much as possible it depleted it very rapidly.

Very very steam hungry, makes an incredible amount of energy from the torque of the flywheel spinning.

I have some questions.. ★ ★How long does this engine run with a boiler of water? ★ Does it take more PSI of steam to drive than a steam piston?

It will run on lung breath, but with no power. To really get some power out of it, it is VERY steam hungry. At just a normal 'steam piston' speed that boiler will run it for around 20 - 30 minutes
