This deserves a BIG --- LOL, it’s all about the soil (as mentioned in other posts) try doing that in my ground, it’s jackhammer, post hole digger, and solid metal rod about 6ft long. Then prepare to be there for hours on end.

Sandy soil such as on the east coast, you use this all day. It would be speedy, but so is a post hole digger there.

Works great in already tilled and loose dirt and top soil. Introduce that weapon to clay or even Arizona packed desert dirt, and things will go much different.

GREAT VIDEO!!! I was looking to buy a post hole auger but they are just way to expensive! The one you built is awesome, and I WILL be making one this morning. It turns out that I have a pile of old blades, threaded rods, and un-threaded, battery powered drill, and welding machine! I have maybe 30 holes I need to do. So for that little amount, I can't justify to myself to go buy anything. With me having all on-hand, its essentially FREE for me to build. Thank you so much for posting this video, you are saving me a lot of money! FOR SURE A BIG THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!

Nice video, but I see few problems. First- be carefull with your electric drill, because you can easily burn it, second- not everybody have old spare saw wheel. So if you have it- it is good to use it like that, but if you don´t have spare old saw wheel- it is not point to buy it because it is quite expensive. Good for smaller diameter holes and soft soil, hard soil with stones will kill the electric drill.

Was going to put up a comment like " ugh, come on ,that's the softest soil groung over ever see. What, did you lay down on a garden bed for this one I mean come on!" But then I sae all the negative comments and I was like " wait, is this made as click bait l to get sceptical to comments?" But after getting half way through the comment now I realize that yeah you could totally make this work with right cutting angle but if you're around a shrub or tree with a matted root structure then forget it! Its a broken finger or wrist for sure... Pine tree growers be warned! But yeah, start off on a shllow gap in the disk edges and start opening it up...get to an effective angle that's easy to hold without too much instability and weld-in some re enforcement and 'as long as you using it on consistent ground' WAMMOE!!! YOU GOT IT BABY!!!

Very creative I'll give you that. And for the area you are in it seems to work very well. But I can't help but notice that the spinning rotation is counterclockwise, and how the drill still stays locked and fixed on it and doesn't let go. Kind of curious as to what kind of drill you are using. Otherwise great job and creativity.

Gas powered post hole augers have two people on them have you seen how they kick back with two people supporting it this is a small drill way to dangerous...
