It's Christmas season and this week I'm sharing my handmade vintage balls or Christmas tree ornaments (or in Italian addobbi natalizi) using fabric, acrylic paints, decoupage, newspaper and lots of arts and crafts. Happy December everyone.♥️This is a very cosy tranquil episode intended to put you in a lovely mood or give you a little inspiration for Christmas decorating rather than serve as a proper how-to tutorial. I’m certain you’ll all ask me about the jazz music.🎺 In order, the tracks I used are: ‘Buon Natale all’Italiana’ 1959 performed by Achille Togliani. Next is ‘Amorevole’ Nicola Arigliano. And again another two performed by Nicola Arigliano - ‘Cerca di Te Solo Me Ne Vo’, then ‘Natale Mi Portera Natale’. Finally at the end, ‘Buon Natale all’Italiana’ again. Hope you enjoy it! Kylie 😘

Hi Kylie, such a beautiful Christmas video, so relaxing. My mom was born and grew up in the province of Caltanissetta and Achille Togliani was one of her favourite singers when she was a teenager. She told me that she wrote to him once and asked for an autographed photo, when she got it she put it up in her room. A real heartthrob if the early 50s 😘

I have to admit that I cried a little inside when you started to cut up the vintage newspaper....but what you did was beautiful! I cannot think of a single person who doesn’t love Christmas! We all suddenly become excited children! The best day of the year for me is going to my sister’s in Bergamo and helping to decorate her tree with any Christmas movie on in the background . This year is obviously very different, but we FaceTimed whilst Christmas decorating during this second lockdown, and it was lovely none the less. Xx

So sweet! As a fellow expat, I have also been making lots of Christmas decorations now that I cannot go home to Denmark for Christmas... Scandinavian woven Christmas stars, pleated hearts and dried slices of orance make for lovely decorations.. it's a lovely, grounding activity. My favourite ornament was ball number 2, really classy! but my homesick heart loved number 13. Hugs from Holland :)

Non so che dire, i tuoi video sono piccoli capolavori, c'è una cura nel riprendere dettagli particolari primi piani, il caminetto acceso le mappe le vecchie riviste la stagnola dei cioccolatini (ma li hai mangiati tutti?) la tazza di thè ecc. Thank you! I highly recommend buying the spheres that can be split in half like the plexiglass ones featured here because it’s easier to get a smooth finish with the resin. The polystyrene balls I had to keep rotating on sticks so drips didn’t form in one point. 😘😘 Good luck!
