It's a scam. The internal PSU can only provide 11.4A. The "800" in the name is probably related to the power it can deliver.
@electrojessy42703 жыл бұрын

@wegi96213 жыл бұрын
Please correct me if I'm wrong. We got double power loss bcos this is SMPS behind SMPS. So if first SMPS power delivery have 85% efficiency, so the second power/voltage admin transforming second time DC to DC. And if it could have 85% efficiency as well - in total we have 70% efficiency - it is not?

My job is to repair electronic devices. Mostly inverters, MPPT chargers etc ... So I need a powerful power supply machine : Compact, low noise, High precision and I found the RD6018. It can regulate voltage from 0 to 60V, Current 0 to 18A. It's amazing. Today I will review my new power supply device.

for repairing electronic devices, RD6018 ripple is a bit high so we recommend to use P version for repairment use

A very useful video, as I've bought on of these and they don't supply assembly instructions. It might be worth pointing out that the section showing the wiring of the 4 way power connector (at 11:00) shows it being wired as red-black-red-black but it should be red-red-black-black. You've corrected this later in the video, but could be worth making this clearer.
@Kenji3141593 жыл бұрын
Yep. It's 2 red (+), 2 black (-). The red ones have to be screwed into the terminals that are closer to the center of the device.

Very nice PSU. The kit form (RD6018control unit+S800case+XJ-S1000W-68V power supply) was well packed and easily assembled in less than 1/2 hour...good idea to watch a youtube assembly video and read the online PDF user manual before you do so. Suggestions: VARIABLE DIAL INCREMENTS 1) Perhaps I've just not seen how to do this yet, but it would be very handy to have the dial increments capable of operating with user-selectable increments. It takes much to long to "dial" settings up and down using the dial. Allow user to increase up and down increments by order of x1, x10, x100. For example, upon receipt the dial increments are in milli-volts, so going from 1V to 5V takes a LONG time using the dial. It's nice being able to direct enter the values, but being able to dial in at varying increments would be a valued addition in functionality. BACKLIGHT ENTIRE KEYPAD 2) 100% backlit keypad buttons. Right now just a few buttons are illuminated. EASIER TO CONNECT TO TERMINAL POSTS 3) This is much more intrusive manufacturing/design change but I think should be done if the opportunity presents itself. Provide much more clear space around the 3 connection posts (pos),(neg),(gnd). When I attach wires and some terminals to the posts, they are critically close to the lower keypad buttons. This makes attaching wires to the connectors difficult due to the proximity. Also, in worst-case situations, I think it's *possible* that simply flexing a connecting wire while the PSU is in use...once wires are attached to posts...could accidentally depress the (decimal), (left), (right), and (on/off) keys on the keypad. This could for example "push" the (on/off) button if you move a circuit board around a bit and the RD6018 could accidentally enable power output and apply power to a circuit when you didn't want power applied (and conversely remove power when you didn't want it removed). It looks like it would become increasingly problematic as the wire gauge increases and/or the insulation becomes thicker. PROVIDE TERMINAL CONNECTOR PLATE WITH RD6018 UNIT 4) Since the user manual advises connecting together the (neg/black) and (gnd/green) posts when not charging batteries, it would be nice if the kit included a terminal connecting plate to do this neatly. I've seen such connectors available for other test instruments. (this is basically approximately a 0.5mm thick flat rectangular plate about 10mm x Ymm with 2 notches in it which connect two adjacent connector posts with minimal interference with other wires/connectors on those posts. Y is perhaps about 10mm longer than the distance between the 2 adjacent posts) "When the charging function is not in use, you can connect the green and black terminals with a cable to prevent interference with the battery detection terminal and accidentally turn off the output."-source: UserManual Model: RD6006/RD6006W/ RD6012/RD6012WRD6018/RD6018W, Date: 2020.9.14

I’m not a fan (pun intended) of the gap between the power module and the rear case wall. There should either be direct output using the existing fan, or a large enough gap for a second fan to remove heated air at the same time as the power module’s fan.

Hey man, I've got a DPS5020 and it burned out 5 times already, mainly with capacitive/inductive load current backflow. Have you tested the RD6018 for this kinda stability? I need more channels so trying to figure out another DPS vs an RD unit that costs almost 2x.

Am I correct if it is not possible with this power supply to power a load with 65V AND 18A? Because the power supply is only a 800W type with 65V and 12,3A. It is possible to draw 18A current from it I guess, like it is shown in this video, but only until around 40V. To have the possibility to draw 18A AND 60V you need a power supply with more than 1000W!
@PhdHung2 жыл бұрын
You're right. Because the case does not fit the 1000W power supply. If you want to get enough power, you have to make your own case and buy a 1000W source.
