How to Make a Pentagon from a Square

I'm incredibly confused. I made my regular printer paper into a square and tried to follow these steps but I get to :57 where you first fold into the center of the X shape and my paper doesn't line up like his....

I just did the maths: it's not an entirely exact pentagon. The small angle you get between the bottom right corner and the folded X (supposedly 1/20 of a circle) is about 3/200 of a circle too large (that's 1.5%).

What is the paper size? Did not work on 81/2×11. It looked like a Pentagon but uneven sizes/corners.

It's not an exact pentagon but very close. The angles are about 4% out but enough for the eye to detect. :)

+Aaliyan Qurexhi The pentagon is only a bit smaller in height than the square, so I'm guessing that if you used a 7x7cm square then your pentagon would be about 6cm high. Hope this helps!

It looks like you're starting with rectangular paper, not square paper. I tried this method with square paper and it didn't work
