Nice responsible use of epoxy. By that I mean it was used only to hold the table together, with regular finish elsewhere. The glass in the middle is much cooler than an epoxy river or something like that. Nice work!

What I love most about your channel (apart from the unique designs) is the lack of bs. No spending half the video flattening slabs, no having to make jigs to clamp wood together, or applying 20 layers of stain/varnish/finish and no farting around making things harder than they need to be. Just straight in, make the item and finish it. DONE. NO BS. Beautiful.

I watch a ton of woodworking videos and rarely, if at all, comment on them. They show the same techniques in slightly different ways and talk way too much about it. I love that you do not speak. Woodworking is done with your eyes, hands, and heart. You, my friend are not just a woodworker but an artist. You have created an heirloom with your heart out of a couple pieces of wood most people see as junk on the side of the road. Keep doing what you are doing and thousands will watch and learn.

I suppose i am making the comment that in my opinion you have used far too much wood to make a coffee table and yes i understand kids jumping all over it but if everyone used this much wood to make every coffee table in the world then there would be no trees left - so it's a green comment really as well as an aesthetic. @@32dras

Excellent work. Extremely creative use of a single raw slab. I don't know of any woodworker who would have seen that single slab and come up with this. This really is an exquisite table. Bravo due. Bravo. There are just two guys who've been making all of the pieces (five bedroom with: dressers, beds, nightstands, benches, chests, and chairs. The library has an 18ft table, 12 chairs, a chest, bookshelf's, two display cabinets, chess game table and chairs, fireplace surround, and built in window seating. The rest of the home has various pieces such as the dining sets, display cases, console tables, bar, coffee and end tables, filing cabinet, other fireplace mantles and surrounds, etc, etc.. all made by John and Norman. The only exceptions are all of the mahogany shelves in the family room, staircase banisters, doors, trim, kitchen/laundry room/bath cabinets as well as all the mahogany windows and patio/balcony doors.) in my home for the last 17 years. Not one of them has been this creative. Of course I've never requested anything like this. To be fair there are a lot of inlays and uses of different species within a single piece. They're going to hate me now that I've been watching a lot of creative woodworkers here on YT. I've got some great ideas now. Unlike store bought, mass produced wood furniture, custom handmade furniture will last forever. Additionally, your neighbors, friends, and family will not have the same piece. Yes (someone is bound to point out) some woodworkers will make duplicate pieces. However, they may only make two to three identical pieces versus 100s of thousands pumped out of suppliers in other countries for distribution and sale globally. Having a piece or pieces made by a local woodworker, supports local craftsmanship, keep your money local, and you're rewarded with a solid piece or pieces you and your family will cherish for generations to come. Very few families have pieces of furniture handed down because they either became valuable or fell out of style. So if you're thinking of having a piece made and the piece is going to be considered expensive to you, don't have a piece made that's trendy. Order up something without ornamentation or in a particular style. Look through their pictures of other timeless pieces they've made previously. You're likely to find something very close to what you imagined. He or she will work with you to sketch out what you want. If you want a piece made with wood and metal find an woodworker who either does both, has a metal fabricator he/she works with, or find a local metal fabrication shop to build the parts needed for the piece you're making. Some of my piece have wrought iron or steel frames with inlayed wood panels attached. A separate company (Iron Design Center) did all the metal fabrication. We already had a working relationship with this company when they did our staircases, deck railings, and a few other projects. They were able to take the John's measurements and fabricate exactly what he needed for the pieces to come together. There are also many local business who contract with local woodworkers and artisans to fill their showrooms and make custom pieces for customers. This is the way to go if you want that added purchase protection. Granted it can add a little to final price, but worth the security knowing you have a licensed and insured business backing your hard earned money. Supporting local woodworking also helps to ensure the craft stays alive. The woodworkers do get rich doing this, they do it for the passion and respect they have for wood. Within each one of them is an artist. Just like painters, clay throwers, and other artists, they rely on customers to keep their craft thriving. Ok. That's all the blabbing I will do. Cheers from Seattle! Cameron

This table is stunning ! It's one of the most unique designs I have ever seen! You are a very talented man with some very cool tools! I was happy to read that you kept this! I can imagine how hard it would have been to let go of. I have always had a hard time letting go of my art, except for when I was a teenager. Back then in high school if I sold something at an art show or someone commissioned a piece from me it made me feel like I was producing adult quality art show pieces, as opposed to student art! My proudest moment was when the judges accidentally judged me in the adult division! I was set up in a spot between the two divisions so they didn't know. When I was re-judged in the student division I got my first Best of show for a weaving on both sides of a bicycle rim in 2 different colors! ( got the idea because I was poor and couldn't afford anything else to weave or Macrame on and I had a great teacher!) That was in 1976-77, now everyone is doing similar things. I wish I had kept it and other stuff I made but I got tired of them. I hope you keep all the things you make that make you happy! Every good artist deserves at least that much ! Thanks for the great video.

Magnifique! Bravo l'artiste,le résultat est très très jolie et original. Tu as utilisé l'obiet à revers pour allier l'estétique et la solidité j'imagine;c'est malin et bien fait. Encore bravo!
