@@joymorrison6614 I think she'd be a good mom even if she bought her bread at the store, served peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, decided to live with the current paint color on the walls, put the baby in a bouncy seat instead of carrying him around while doing the cooking, or sent her kids to public school.

We moved into a renovated farm house three years ago. The only two spaces not updated were an enclosed porch off the dining room and a side entry. I had to be very careful picking paint so that when you looked from one room into the next it didn't clash but blended and complimented each other. I did repaint the porch room from a safe green to a deeper green. It looks much nicer from the dining room. It's tough when you have rooms lined up. We have three.

I think that's when those paint sample strips from the paint store would come in handy. Pick the very top color (lightest) for the room that gets the least sunlight and the middle one for the "middle" sunlit room and the bottom color (darkest) for the room that gets the most sunlight. Those colors were literally blended to go together and makes for a very soothing paint palette in your home. Have remodeled 5 of our homes in this way and rooms never clash.

It’s to bad that all of us couldn’t go back to living the natural way of living. I am sorry to see many of your ironstone having to be placed in different areas of the house. They looked so nice in that cupboard or China cabinet you had them in but I understand your reason’s. I’m sure you’ll find good homes for them all. I also know how much you loved those red n white dishes you had in there too. You’ll just have to hunt for another China cabinet instead of in boxes. ♥️😊👍👍

Funny how our tastes change as the years go. When I first was married I thought I wanted to go country (a bit more rustic than the farmhouse of today). When I would buy new furniture though, it was really never country, it leaned to mid-century. That was my aesthetic when I was single and in my 20’s. I have been thrifting MCM decor for years but now I am not so sure that is my true love. I am always telling my husband I want to build a little “house” sort of an adult playhouse in the back that I can craft, sew, read etc and I totally envision that decorated in a comfy cottage, floral fabrics, English garden way. Hoping I can do that soon!

I always envied her ability to do stuff with a baby. It honestly hurts my back. While I do hold my babies, they spend a lot of time lying on their sheepskin looking at their Montessori mobiles or kicking a grasping ball.. I actually do naps and sleep so different from her. Kinda bummed me out, but all three of mine sleep great, even the 4 month old, so oh well. Whatever you end up doing will work for you. ❤
