That last one against Selby, wow...
@kevanbrown76203 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love it every time he beats Selby. Ronnie plays the game the way I like it to be played. Even his safety is sometimes better than his potting, it's very clever and hit with just the right amount of power, and placement, it's exciting. When Selby plays, as good as he is, he is very boring. Takes far too long, a lot of the time, to take a shot, sometimes, the simplest of shots. He plays the safety game, which if course is part of the game, but he's boring to watch and if he's getting beat, he tries so hard to drag his opponent down to his level, that's how he beat Ronnie in the 2014 world final 18-14, but when Ronnie refused to let Selby drag him down in the 2020 world semi final, Selby couldn't cope with the way Ronnie was playing, and thank God, it was the best 3 frames I've ever seen. Ronnie winning 3 on the bounce to go into the final and win. His shot from the cushion in the last frame was just unbelievable. No other player would have played that shot in the deciding frame of the world demi final. Not even Judd Trump. Judd would have played it earlier on in the match, but not in a decider for the final. Go On Ronnie.
@danielgoncalves64383 жыл бұрын
@@kevanbrown7620 to me this frame and the last couple of frames against Slowby in the 2020 semi final were simply "orgasmic" moments to me watching snooker. I will never forget them because in both matches Slowby was doing everything to stop Ronnie's momentum and to be Slowby does it in a way that I find it's not very sportsmanlike. Slowby actually does have the skill to play against Ronnie toe to toe but because he's so annoying and doesn't believe his own ability he much rather keep the frames dirty, boring and basically he puts all the colors on the cushions and drags the frames as much as possible to bore Ronnie to death. And that is why I will never support Slowby and will always support any player against Slowby.

What can you say about Ronnie O'Sullivan. WOW, sums it up in there letters. There's been so much superlatives written about him. WOW says it all. His 147 in 5 minutes 20 seconds, his 92 break against Ali Carter, Coming from 4-0 down to win 5-4, beating Mark Selby in the 2020 world semi final when he was 16-14 behind and won the last 3 frames. Like most great athletes and artists, Ronnie O'Sullivan can be moody, sullen and petulant. But he can also be fun-loving, dignified in defeat and magnanimous in victory. Either way, he is great fun to watch. And I am an American pool player who has never stepped up to a snooker table.

Snooker is one of the most difficult games to play. I used to play a lot of pool when I was younger and got quite good, but when I tried playing snooker it showed me how skillful these great players must be. Also the years of practice that they must dedicated to it. Even then, on practice tables some players can just knock in century after century, but when it comes to playing live in front of an audience and t.v. cameras moving around them, it takes a special talent to play at that level.

I'm always amazed at how many shots he makes in the middle pockets, too, often from angles that don't even look like shots I'd even consider as options.
