People think it's just a bathroom how long could it take...95% of the time it takes is cutting in with a trim brush, rolling takes about 2 minutes

You can also put the paint in the tray, with the roller in a bag in the fridge freezer if you have a fridge in the home. This works great too.

*I always paint the top of the door frame... easy to wipe/dust the crap that gathers up there. Sure no one sees up there... but if left unpainted, it is harder to remove the dust/crap. Plus I also use oil-base paint on door frames and window frames... lasts longer with the knocks the frames gets.🙂.*

A trick I learned from a professional painter was to dim the lights or darken the room and use a work light shined at an angle on the drywall surface...it highlights all the imperfections to make identifying areas that need more sanding easier and if you can't see it that way, you won't see it.

in larger spaces that works great. It is called a Prime Check. in a small room with no variation in lighting it is just easier to leave the lights on and do a first coat of paint. Cheers!

I'd love a wooster brush but there not 12 dollars here, there 25 euro's, witch is about 30 dollars. Even with Uncle Bezos. I'm sure there is a European solution, don't know what jet, but we will see and find out. Yes I'm Dutch, yes I'm counting cents. Thank you again for the many tips, its a lovely bathroom!!

Same. It’s surfactant. Have to repaint whatever the previous owner put on the walls and get a paint that’s better for bathrooms.

so the age of the home determines the primer. oil vs latex. so does the repair system. Cheers1

I like Behr paint. I hate CIL, its too watery. First time and last time I used it put on 5 coats of orange on top a light yellow to get the colour we wanted.

Whats so funny about this video is that i just got done with my paint job 1 hour ago. I could have used this video yesterday make my paint job go faster! Benjamin Moore Ben for lowest cost lowest performance but great application and no VOC. Sherwin Williams Emerald for best performance. C2 for best finish. Cheers! Behr for 1 coat coverage.

Why would paint peel off mud? I primed new drywall but the final coat in some spots just peeled off when water got splashed on it.

glidden diamond is some great paint. spreads so well and an added bonus is it doesnt smell, low voc so you cant paint with the windows shut

It all depends on which version or line of paint you use. I find the professional companies have too much variation so the brand name suffers when folks have a bad experience with a commercial product when they should be using a more professional residential product.

Hey Jeff, informative video. I have to repaint a bathroom ceiling that the paint is flaking off of, is that the same process? Do I need to figure out why it was flaking?

I had that happen in my bathroom. I peeled off the loose bits, washed it with TSP to remove all residues, skim coated the divots, and then made sure to use a bathroom primer and paint. I had originally used Delux's flat white which they assured me would be fine. It was not. Couldn't handle the moisture, especially the ceiling over the shower.
