GREAT! I'll check it out :) I love them -- easy and simple to use so I don't have to worry about trying to print little activities for his 3-4 year old busy fingers to work on :)

The Pathway Workbook is a good tool that I use every now and then to enforce grammar etc.

I'm so glad you flipped through the rod and staff preschool! it's really cute on the inside but you can't really tell from the outside 😅 and I would enjoy a video focusing on math u see... I'm thinking of using it for Judah next year and would love to see it in practice! 😍

Oh! Maybe I can do a math lesson example as a video, that might be helpful for others too! Yes the Rod and Staff I love (my mom used them with me actually haha!) It is simple enough activities but we don't have to worry about coordinating, printing things etc :)

My preschooler also love books and loves writing letters all the time, too, so I can relate! I'm also a 2nd gen homeschooler and I used Saxon myself and was later introduced to Math U See because my mom used it with my younger siblings--now using it with my son! Your story was relatable.

Wow! Yes, very similar!! 😍 thanks for sharing, Math-U-See is so user-friendly!

I appreciated the walk through of the little rod and staff ABC books. Thank you. Isn't Soyna Shaffer from SCM amazing! They really have some great resources I have used them for years now. I grew up with the pathway readers too and loved them! Lothed the workbooks, so we won't be using those for our children. Had to get my own new set though as mom wasn't finished with hers, younger siblings still at home. Best wishes in your homeschool journey.

Your 3 year old sounds very much like ours ☺️❤️ he wants his 'handwriting'and 'math' books and will literally go through 5 pages at a time, happy as can be to be 'doing school' 😅📚

Yessss haha! Does yours have older siblings too? This is where we really can let the child lead 🤣

I love how you explained the math and how they’re able to master before moving on I feel like that’s my gripe with good and beautiful that we’re currently using I feel like if I pulled her from it she might be confused in whatever she gets thrown into but I think she needs more of a mastery approach
@hannahgravelle2 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with that curriculum but yes I think mastery when it comes to math is more important than just "getting through it" 🥺
@trainupachildhomeschooling64932 жыл бұрын
The thing i dont like about math-u-see is that yes you can skip lessons if your child has mastered the concept but then you are left with a fewer number of lessons to last you for the remaining of the school year. And then if your child masters another concept before those particular lessons are over then is an even fewer number of lessons left. That’s why I prefer spiral learning.

I think that is a great critique, thank you for the insight! When my siblings were little and they used it they were limited to the 3 lessons and 3 reviews, however now they do have an online access where we can print more practices and reviews! Not sure if you knew that so maybe that is helpful to note! :)
