I appreciate how relaxed this is. I find that so many "family subject' videos or people's schedules can be very intense and structured. I thrive best as a teacher with structure and goals but flexibility.

Thank you for this ❤️ I feel the same. I love structure but I also want to keep it simple.

Yay! I'm the first comment...haha. I need to get the hymn study book, it has been on my wish list for two years. My kids are older and their schedules are different so our family subjects are very few. For next year, we will do read aloud, World Watch News, Bible and game school everyday together. We do history together but separate. We use Bibloplan which is a God send curriculum. So my kids study the same time period but different ways. This year we are covering the Middles Ages, my 6th grader is using SOTW and my 8th grader is using Mystery of History as a spine. Together we will watch Time for Art and do the projects. On Mondays we do all the projects and experiments for the week because I am the most refresh. For science one is using TGTB units and the other is using Science Shepherd Life Science. I loved when we did things together but I am learning to respect their request.

I love this so much! I’m so interested in World Watch News. Have you done it before? We lovveeedd studying the Middle Ages. That will be so fun! I’ve never heard of Biblioplan. I love when I get to learn about new resources. Sounds like you have a great year ahead of you! Thanks for sharing! I love reading about it!

Absolutely love your content! Any chance you will do another series on your DIY language arts when you plan your next book?
@simplylearningtogether6516 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m not sure if I’ll do another complete novel series but I will definitely be sharing more about it as we do it. I’m so passionate about creating language arts with novels and I get so excited talking about it. So there will definitely be more videos to come. I’m so glad you enjoyed the novel series I did. I will definitely keep it in mind!

Oh good! We have loved it so far! I put a link in the description to a video where I share the little half pages we do for notebooking. They’re super simple and it’s a great way to record what they’ve learned! I don’t do it for every single one, but for the majority of the lessons we do.

Have you read Elizabeth George Spears’s Sign of the Beaver for a family read aloud? That fits in your time period and enjoyed by a wide range of ages! Love your choices!

Yes we read that last year-I loved it! It’s so fun to connect our read alouds to the time period we are learning. Thank you for the suggestion. I am so appreciative of good book recommendations!

The memory box idea, is that a simply Charlotte mason thing?

Can anyone recommend a grammar curriculum that would be well suited for a child with poor working memory? She needs a lot of repetition, and something that’s straightforward and effective.
@simplylearningtogether6513 ай бұрын
@@brittany.powell I have enjoyed using Easy Grammar with one of my kids. I love the way their grade 1 and 2 is set up. I haven’t used the older grades but I know they also have something called Daily Grams to help practice.

We’re going into year 3 of using Long Story Short.. it has taken us that long! But it’s really good. Granted, we don’t use it the entire year. We do Bible reading applicable to Christmas and Easter once we get to that part of the year.
