What does your language arts program look like?

High school-Grammar-fix it grammar(LOVE IT HS), Literature- Notgrass world history selections/ other novels, Writing- writing strands by Masterbooks (love the schedule Masterbooks use)(added letters to friends and poems)

We are using IEW - Structure and Style (completed) and Fix it Grammar. We are also using "What Your 5th Grader Needs to Know" for poetry and literature. Plus reading books.

IEW is a staple in our family too. Great program. I am going to google the "What your 5th grader needs to know." I like having other books or curriculums to switch it up. Reading books are the best!!! Love that too. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching. Happy homeschooling.

Does fix it Grammar have kids memorize prepositions?? I’m looking into grammar curriculum and many have them memorize preposition and I don’t remember having to do that in school 🤔

No it is really more repetition vs memorizing. There are cards that come with the book so each time they learn a new skill they cut out the card and can keep it on hand. So there is a card that has a bunch of prepositions that they can just look back at while they work through the lessons. I like it because it's a short lessons and repetitive. I will actually be buying the next level soon. We took a little grammar break for awhile and did some other workbooks for awhile. Good Luck and let me know what you choose.

We have a language Arts curriculum, do you think we need to add and separate the English curriculum?

I would use what you have. If you feel like you want to supplement with workbooks or other curriculum you can add it later. You are most likely doing more than enough!!! Keep up the good work and happy homeschooling.
