Let's chat about homeschooling plans for summer! I'm sharing my summer curriculum plans in this video and am pretty excited about our summer learning choices. We embrace more of a year round homeschooling model in our home, so summer homeschooling is definitely a thing for us. I love doing the research for our summer homeschool plans just as much as I love making curriculum choices for the main homeschool year! Will you be homeschooling through the summer? I also follow the AO bible readings. To make sure my daughter who is 6 can narrate we read very small chunks. If its a long chapter usually there are subheadings within that chapter and we may only get through 1-2 or those subsections. She outgrew the story bibles when she was 4 and we started on just following AO and using an actual bible. I find she narrates better now that she's the one reading the bible.

That’s great! We have typically used the subheadings to pause and narrate, with my girls taking turns reading aloud and narrating. They just started reading on their own the past couple weeks though.

My kids love the Story of the Orchestra! We've used their ballet book as well, and we're going to use the Jazz book this coming school year. I'm also planning to use their poetry book, A Child's Introduction to Poetry, with my kids this summer.

What great plans!! I think we are going to try and do the tree study you showed in an old video. We LOVE Summer Reading Programs. It's our favorite thing!! I FINALLY went and got girls her FtW Library card. Benbrook is next on the list. I don't really know which ones allow for non-resident participation.

I might be able to do that here if on Instagram stories. What are you having a hard time visualizing? It’s pretty open and go, but is there a specific hang up?

I guess just seeing what parts you teach (is it just the info in the top boxes), how many problems you do per lesson, if you use manipulatives. We’re finishing up Math With Confidence K and I have a plan together for 1, but since I have MM2 for free, it would be nice to use it. And momma needs for kiddo to become a little more independent at that stage!

Do you feel the Student Journal from Delightfully Feasting is necessary to accompany the special study?

We don’t plan to use them, but they could be helpful if you want the extra direction. The journaling prompts are included in the special studies, though.

How do homeschooling parents/kids feel about being around each other 90 percent of the time. An average non home school kids are away from home 40 hrs a week. How do the kids not get tired of being around a parent this much time, no matter how great the parent is. Just curious
