Thank you for this! Seeing siblings making music -- that's pure silver! Better than gold. There is nothing like that pocket. The anticipation, the groove, the awareness -- the feeling and knowing. And when it comes to singing, knowing what comes next because you hear your Mother (RIP), or sister, take a breath beside you. More succinctly, you anticipate their breath, and just know. And yet none of it takes conscious effort. The playing is always a certain kind of work, but all the other tangibles and intangibles that make music, music -- they happen intrinsically with family, and in my case, with a few friends who are considered as family. So special. I also really appreciate hearing electric players who use their fingers, and not picks. For all the yummy range of sounds that picks can create, for my dollar, nothing beats the possibilities of what flesh or nail on a string can create. Thank you, Tom, and thank you, Hermanos Gutiérrez!

Tom, this is why Homeskoolin is the best site on KZbin. You never know what you are going to learn and experience. One day it’s your fabulous playing and instructions or maybe a behind the scenes of a studio session or stage performance. Or the chance to meet the loving Nashville cats in all walks of the business. Or just the lovely moments you spend with your kids. Keep up the GREAT work. We’re so proud of you here in Cleveland. Randy from Willowick. Ps. Any chance you might join in with Oats and Guthrie for a couple numbers in their upcoming show?

You can feel how tight and close these guys are together and how intimate and personal their songs are. I bet that was a bit nerve racking to try to tap into their world and play something that they would feel and approve of. Dan knew you were the right man for the job though. You are such a good, honest and genuine dude. Everyone can feel it. A lot of other guys probably wouldn’t have been able to pull it off and be welcomed into their circle.
