Uncle Larry goes through the first few tracks of the new album with you ….
If you haven’t heard the record yet you should save this video to watch later…seriously
here is the link to buy the record
bakedalaskarec...
Unrelated, if any of you guys are looking for a bangin 56 les paul tv special I have one here for sale. A friend brought it over…he wants 15k plus domestic US shipping for it
It’s a damn nice guitar
Cons:
Old Grovers clearly put on a million years ago, original keys not included
Refretted with slightly larger than original sized frets
Comes in a 70s Gibson les paul case
Pros:
Nice comfortable weight
Beautiful fairly worn original TV finish with no overspray and no repairs whatsoever
Big chunky kick ass neck
It’s already got a music city bridge on it
all original parts otherwise
This guitar plays great, sounds great, looks great

Congratulations Uncle Larry. Just finished my first spin of In Stereo on the bus ride home from work. I got lost in my headphones and almost missed my stop. As I was listening to it I was thinking how cool it would be if Uncle Larry did a Home Skoolin’ video with a breakdown of who played what and who wrote what. As I sat down to eat my dinner and turned on KZbin, what is waiting for me in my queue but Home Skoolin’ Volume 306. Awesome album and awesome video Mr. Bukovac. Thanks again for shepherding us Home Skoolers through the dark days of the pandemic and for keeping this Home Skoolin’ thing going. Long live Uncle Larry.

Tom I had a dream that I would randomly bump into you just before I flew to Nashville to record one of my songs last fall. I did not. But I ran smack dab into Guthrie on a Sunday morning at Fanny's! We had a little jam in the acoustic parlor and Guthrie bought me lunch down at Happy Cow, swapping phone pics and life stories and guitar cheer! The generosity of spirit was beyond positive, it felt like an affirmation I belong in the universe. And now you are releasing an album together! The brotherhood you both cultivate, and now joining forces, is so vital, it's fuel that keeps us fighting to be better musicians and people. Much brotherly love to you both! My signed vinyl is on the way!

i gigged half my life and have played for over 40 years now. played with a few people everyone would know. You never know how things are gonna go down but sitting down with Guthrie and a pair of boxes may be one of the few things that still cause me some nerves. lol.

The break in The Black Cloud has drum sounds that are so great they made me laugh and cry while I was driving down the 210 listening to the completely underwhelming stereo in my chevy. I was seriously thinking about how special and fleeting it was to hear it for the first time. Kudos to the tracking engineers too. Those fish don't just jump in the boat.

Ordered In Stereo about a week ago....just waiting! Downloaded your Plexi Soul album a couple days ago. Wow, so good. The sonic quality, dang.....would love to see video on any of that if you have it. The tracks on it sound like 2 songs in one, like you have these two ideas and you melded them together, in the best kind of way. Cardboard Cutouts have hints of John Mayer on part 2 of the song. I was on my walk listening to it and I head one song come on and I thought that sounds like a tv show them song, then I look at the title and its "cop show music" ha! Well done!

I bought the album becuase you are both incredible players and I wanted to hear what you would do. OK - where I am in my life, and the fact that I am a guitar player. It's just what I need. I'm listening now. Almost all the way through this, but had to comment because it's so wonderful. It's beautiful but never boring, it's a guitar players album but not a guitar jerk off. It's so soulful and mourning and hopeful. It's the album Ive been longing for for the last 10 years that no one else is making. Thank you.

It's so refreshing to hear an album made by bad ass musicians and no singer to F it all up. Normally people want to hear a singer and the band is just there. I enjoy listening to musicians and the music, like Hermanos Gutierrez, and this new album as well. Thx Uncle Larry. Congrats to you and GT.

Hey Tom, just wanted to say the Plexi Soul and In Stereo albums are both really special. I'm normally not a fan of instrumental albums, but these are far better than most. There are some great guitarists out there with instrumental albums, but they don't hold a candle to these. I'm a trucker and I can listen to these for hours as I'm driving. Love the mix of your style with Guthrie's. He's amazing also. You compliment each other well. There's only one other instrumental album that's on par with these, imo, and that's "Music from the movie Cal" by Mark Knopfler. It's 38+ years old and I've never tired of it. You're in great company bro! Thanks for the music!

I've listened to the CD twice after receiving it tonight. That's you on the right and Mr. Trapp on the left, correct? I'm hearing bits reminiscent of Genesis, Michael Hedges, Dregs/Steve Morse, Camel and loads of Country Music pickers (plus stuff that goes places I can't quite recall). That's not to say the album is derivative. Far from it. I love it. Immediately after listening to "In Stereo" all the way through, my wife wanted to hear "Plexi Soul" again (for the nine hundredth time). As for coffee, we usually use whole bean coffees from local roasters. The major brands taste stale, burnt or not at all like coffee to my wife and me.

Got to get me a Home Skoolin’ coffee cup. So I can enjoy my pour over coffee and listen to In Stereo. In Stereo is Grammy worthy, honestly it’s the Best thing I’ve heard in a long while. The sequencing of song order is great. It takes you on a journey to a very happy place like Oz. What I love about this is their is no specific category it’s just great music full of surprises like that detour which I think is uncle Larry taking a left turn into a kind of Mahavishnu vibe in the Bridge of Pick Peace and then drops you into this very cool Wurlitzer electric piano resolving back into the tune.

Brotherman…the new album is killer! Super inspiring and the tones…uh, the tones. Just amazing!! With that said tho, don’t be angry, but in my opinion it’s a close runner up to PlexiSoul. That album still just takes me to another place. Thanks for sharing!!

The album is great! Just what I needed to get me out of this rut I am playing in right now. You and GT nailed it!! And Danny was off the charts on that. Such a Jeff Beck vibe.
