Happy belated Birthday Tom. I've watched all your video library, including most of the shorts and extras. I have never, in over 50 years of playing guitar, have I ever found such a wealth of information, inspiration, and just pure joy as I have found in your videos. These are the highlight of my day, week. Yes, I'll be re-watching every last one again, as I was usually too gobsmacked by just the purity, and fluidity of your playing to catch but only the minimum of the lesson given that day. You are the most prolific player on these here innerwebs, and no one in my mind can touch you. Being an old dude who still hits the bricks and plays the "dive-bars", I've stolen what I can, morsel by morsel. I'm looking forward to re-watching your videos, along with your collaboration vids. again and again and again. Dude, I have seen some of the greats play, and you, in my mind are the GOAT.. hands down, THE best ear and improvisational player I've ever heard. Your style and touch is just a thing to just behold and revel in. I don't usually post on your vids, just a few words now and then, but as I said, after watching nearly all of your library ( I wanted to wait until then to make an informed decision) , and having played as long as I have, I feel I'm qualified to say as much. I finished watching your last video on my birthday, 17 Dec., saving the last one like a present until then.. and you never disappoint. Looking forward .. Peace and Happy Holidays to you and yours Uncle Larry. I'm glad your son is feeling better. Much love from an old string twister !! G.

You are mighty right about the limelight. Had that conversation with my wife on a long ride in the country today. Haven't played for money in front of a big crowd since 2004, but you miss the white light, the crowd hollering, and the sound of good drums and big amps, you miss it. But it's a good missing, a good memory that you don't lose and it can warm your little stinking heart. Glad your boy is experiencing the simple thrill of making them smile and dance. It's a good job, making folks feel good. Thanks a billion Unc Larry.

Greg Voros saw my homeschoolin shirt and bought me a beer at the bar. 👍🏻Such a treat seeing all the bad asses have a nice loose night together. And Marshall….cmon man. Talk about a proud papa moment! What a night. We’ll be back again for sure. Thanks for everything Tom.

Man I watched all the videos and it certainly appears a good time was had by all. I really enjoyed the songwriter showcase. It’s so cool that on your birthday you shined a little light on the “creators of the song.” You weren’t kidding when you said the volume pedal is your secret weapon. Oh yeah Marshall killed it. He plays better at 12 than I did at 17. Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas. Much love from NC.

The guy with the “debunking the burst myth” channel has proven one salient point and he should get enormous credit for proving that regardless of the quality of the guitar-pristine 59 burst or the cheapest chisbon, if you put it in the hands of a mediocre player, it will sound mediocre. If you put the great guitar in the hands of a great musician, it will be magic. The great musician will also get the best possible sound out of the mediocre guitar. We live in a Country where people are more motivated to try to denigrate or hurt those that arouse their jealousy than to take stock of their own lives to make things better for everyone. It is a sad time and we are unfortunately reaping what we sow-sow the wind, reap the whirlwind. Thanks for your great channel. It is one of the few things on social media that makes me happy, has a positive message and makes me feel like I learned something after listening.

Really cool to see Marshall playing. I noticed, also, that when he first got on stage he plugged in the cable from Guthrie Trapp's rig straight into his guitar's output jack; Guthrie saw this, unplugged the cable and threaded it through the strap and plugged it in again, to avoid it being yanked out by mistake mid-performance(something I'd done several times way back in the day, lol). I thought it was really sweet of Guthrie to do that.

@lanceleslie5165 I'm not 100% sure, but I think Tom was worried about someone posting a video with a close-up of Marshall's face. But since it's just a wide shot all the way through Tom was ok with it. Again, just guessing.

Happy birthday Buk! I used to get my son’s up with me on occasion. My older son Zeb on guitar and my youngest son Caleb on drums. We later played in a church band together. There’s nothing like seeing your progeny experiencing music with you. One of the closest things males can do together ( without being gay/ no offense intended). I never forced them into music or anything, like sports etc. Just tried to facilitate whatever they were into. My son Caleb is a performing musician in a band in Nashville. He’s played some large venues and said thanks to me including him at my little gigs, he has no stage fright and is very comfortable. Glad to hear that from my son. Happy birthday once again. Glad the night went well and wish I could have been there.

Happy belated birthday man! Your videos, your inspiration means everything! So wonderful that your kid got to experience what their dad does and treasure so much!!.. And!! for your birthday! an awesome thing for a dad to experience with their kid😮!!!!! 😊. I absolutely love your channel even though I don't always agree but at least that's how the world used to be.. I'm an old guy working in another industry, but I do have means to own some pretty cool equipment.. that being said there's a whole other world out there from session playing and the weekend guitarist.. as I watch your channel and dream what might have been or could have been or never would have been..lolas much as I wish I'll never be as good as you! But I still Love the music!.. so yeah.. I'm going to buy a modeler.. why? Because I'm never going to play out professionally.. I'm going to do some local gigs.. and the sound regardless is pretty damn close.... Even though I can buy a few guitars I'm not going to own 10 amps.. 😮 again this isn't a slam It's just a little different angle from somebody like me who can't afford to do that or maybe I can but I'm not going to. 😊 Love you man keep on rocking and doing what you do because that is what you do! You are one of my favorite channels and keep on rocking!! Again Uncle Larry I'm not throwing darts at all It's just a perspective of where we're all at!! Go Lions bitches! 😅😅
