Thanks for your help !! We used a piece of laminating sheet on the bottom, 2 vet wrap spacers like yours, then plastic medical tape, and trimmed it to size.

It's a great little kit to have. Lots of my stuff came right from my kitchen junk drawer. A lot like an arts and crafts project. Each one looks a little different.

Do you know how to make a football splint out of vet wrap for a chicken with curly toe?

How can I tell if baby chicks leg is broken or sprang?

You would be kind enough if you guide what to do when green sparrow's chick cant stand on its right leg and has curled toes ? It feels as if its leg is broken.

I am treating a little orphaned kid goat that has his two front feet turned inward at the ankle & walking on them. we didn't find him until possibly day two. He's in splints now. Not fun poor lad.

My chick is young, we got him and he has a wound on his back, the other chicks are pecking at it so we want to cover it up. What method can we do this so it doesn’t come off? I’m afraid his wound will contaminate others since they peck on it, can it? What do you think? Thankyou!!

can you splint an adult chicken/rooster?
@mcwilliamsheritagefarm1981 Жыл бұрын
You could. Chick feet are easy to mold and are very flexible in the first few days. An adult is going to be harder to change the outcome. I would definitely give it a try if quality of life was being affected.
