You mentioned Kulaks. I think you'd like Anne Appelbaum's book Red Harvest. Really excellent book.

For exit wounds, there is a treatment we use on horses that you can get at most Tractor Supply called Underwood Horse Medicine. I have used it on horses with huge wounds and seen them heal supper fast and in some cases it hardly leaves a scar. I had one Filly with a big shoulder wound that was festered when I get to her and after using Underwood the scar was like a pencil mark. We used it on the horses because it doesn't require bandages. You will also need Baking Power to use with it, the directions are on the bottle, supper easy!

Where there is no doctor is a great book! It’s written for someone in a remote area to run a health clinic. There’s also “where there is no dentist” for the dental side of things. Those, with The Survival Medical handbook, are a great start for the medical section of your library.

Lot of guys forget things like a BP cuff, stethoscope, pulse ox, and specialized dressings like traction splints or pelvic girdles. If you are sustaining yourself and others for any length of time, that tourniquet is going to need to come off and work is going to need to be done cleaning, suturing and stabilizing that wound.

Signs of infection is excessive warmth to the immediately surrounding tissues, purulent (pus), red streaking, foul smell (you’ll know), swelling under the surface that is squishy (possible abscess) or fever.

Clove oil is an absolute miracle for tooth aches. As for tooth extraction, I purchased a “German stainless steel” set, from EBay, for $120.

Knowing your basic medical data then putting that on a self made tag or dog tag for each of your MAG members is essential... you may not have a conscience person you need to treat...

Our doc was my roommate and he often roped me into helping with his study sessions. The shit I have seen privates with has made me adamant about person health and hygiene standards.

Dr Eric Berg and Townsends have loads of homeopathic and foraged medicine insights on their yt channels that are applicable not just for global logistics shutdown, but for preventative and foolproof maintenance to your stock and body for any situation. Its not all about tourniquets and gauze

How often do you change out wraps and gauze
@mrmicro22
@mrmicro22 2 ай бұрын
The wrappers will be compromised by age before the contents will. They can then still sit on a shelf as back ups to your backups until they lack structural integrity.

@johna3163 I think the question was directed at "after use"? That said, they may have to be changed several times in the first day due to bleed through. By day two, the patient should be more stable, and bandages can be changed out only 2 or 3 times. By day 3, I would expect to be down to 1 or 2 changes. etc. FWIW, there are medical guaze/sponges that can be placed up against a wound with the bandage over top. That way, you can change out the cheaper sponge more frequently. These are often sold pre-wrapped and sterile. If needed, bandages can be washed/bleached and re-used if no other option is available. Hope that helps, Phil

It is funny you mention it but the Mormon/LDS thing is not just geographical just like any religion some people follow more closely than others I am in Tennessee and some of us are adamant about preparation and some are extremely relaxed🤷‍♂️

No shit. It’s all fun and games until your face is pounding, with sharp pains if you mouth breath, drink, eat, etc. you can’t sleep. I’ve not had even a cavity, luckily… but I’ve watched and been with those who had broken teeth, infections. They were freaking miserable.
