Loved the slo-mo underbody shot with accompanying guitar bend. LOL. Brings back memories. Cheers!

Just found your site it's very informative on gardening attachments and very useful. I'm jealous though where are your rocks haha. If I could grow potatoes like I grow rocks I would be rich. The ground here is terrible rocky. Take the rocks away and there's nothing but a hole. Thanks for the video it's great.

Put you on some wider sweeps .you call them tipps get the ones shaped like arrow heads that are sharp all the way around and run it a little shallower and faster and it will smother out the weeds between the plants

Do you think it would hold up to vines and roots?
@HomesteadEngineering
@HomesteadEngineering 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if your pulling it with a small tractor like mine. In other words, if you hit a large root, the tractor would just stop and spin the tires. If it were on a large tractor, you might break a tine. Thanks!

Just bought that very cultivator to use with my JD 2520, looking forward to trying it out. I want to see if I can add hilling shovels on the crossbar in the rear, and maybe a furrowing shoe in the middle.

Can someone help me understand the benefits of a rototiller vs. this? I'm getting ready to buy a new Kubota BX2380 tractor and plan to use it to put in a garden (among other things). The land where the garden would go used to be part of a soy bean field but has since become overgrown with grass. I plan to brush cut it and then try to till/cultivate it for use as a garden. Could I get by with a cultivator like this, or do I need to shell out bigger bucks for a tiller?
@HomesteadEngineering
@HomesteadEngineering 3 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, the cultivator is not meant to plow or till the soil. I would only use it in loose soil to control the weeds. You probably need at least a disk but the tiller would be ideal. When the weeds are high, I go over my garden with a brush hog, then disk then wait for that to decay a bit, then till it. Hope this helps.

@@HomesteadEngineering Thank you! That’s helpful. I’ve only used a small walk-behind roto-tiller before. So wasn’t sure which 3-pt implements I might need to garden on a larger scale.

Good idea. I would need to weld a brace next to the new hole for support like they have on each existing hole now.

@@HomesteadEngineering The back cross bar spans a long area and the mid span link to the tractor top link will both bend if used in heavy soil. I would recommend bracing even in light soil. Really a poor/cheap design from experience.
