We have some big news for Luna, our rehab mare! She has found a new home with our friends, Todd and Michelle over at 8E Rescue Ranch. It’s really a perfect situation for Luna. Todd and Michelle run a horse reacue and santuray and have fallen in love with Luna. Luna will become one of their sanctuary horses. 8E plan continure treatments and care for her canker. Their hope for Luna is that they can do maintenance on Luna’s hoofs and keep her sound and healthy so she can live out her life with their beautiful family. I always felt she needed to be working. I felt, the way to her HEART ❤️ was to let her do what she was good at. This is a working breed. They are happiest with a JOB. I have a dog breed like that. They LIVE to WORK. Some breeds (of both horses and dogs) are not happy just being pets or decorative yard ornaments (they need a job)! Otherwise, they either: drive you crazy with unchaneled energy, become very sad and withdrawn or destructive.

Well done! I am happy to see that she has made incredible progress- the canker might not yet be completely healed but an important part of recovery is taking care of her mind and spirit- she needed to get out and be a horse - she is at a better place mentally and in spirit- so everyone is in the right direction- canker is very serious and to make progress in that disease is saying a lot - she will continue to get good care and I think she will reach the goal of being canker free - with all of Luna intact- congratulations to all for doing Gods work❤

Luna is my favorite of the three Clydesdales. I was hoping it would be found that she had been registered and she and Oliver could have a foal. She is beautiful and has a wonderful temperament. As an older horsewoman, I wonder if J.R. might remind Luna of a handler in her past. That could be the reason that they did not click. I did watch the 8E channel for the first time last night because it popped up with a picture of a beautiful old girl that I immediately recognized. Of course, I immediately subscribed. I can picture all the family on wagon, and hopefully, sleigh rides. The beginning of that video was priceless with all the children in the family vehicle on the way to pick Luna up. @rxvintagetreasuresval You do know, that she is only a few miles away and that this family does have a KZbin channel where you can see her, right? It is 8Elrod, and they do horse sanctuary, do horse rescue, as well as own horses of their own. Michelle is going to start a horse therapy program in the spring. Boaz is going to be part of that. They will see If Luna, would be suitable for that. Many draft horses are, very good for novice riders, if trained to saddle and she is. But she may prefer to give wagon rides.

Just what the doctor ordered, a loving family who will keep her forever. Luna has landed where she was supposed to. I can just imagine Luna's mental health has been damaged. She has been bounced from home to home, all in a short period of time. The owner previous to JR only had her a few months also. She also is now being separated from Beauty. Poor old gal. Though she was well cared for it's not good for their psyche. I truly hope with the children involved that she bonds deeply with her owners. I hope her future is filled with lots of love, and free from the pain of canker. I'm also thrilled that she will continue to be used as a horse is meant to be used.
