We found out Image's daughter and her newborn foal would be at a local auction! We did not want to risk having them end up in the wrong hands, so we went to the sale to see if we could get them. And we did!!! Now its a few weeks later and they are settled in and are feeling at home and relaxed. We get them out to evaluate the mare and see just how well trained she is. We also reveal the foals name!

Follow along with our family as we share our life events while living on our 168 acre homestead, farm and stables!
We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! Magnolia is a beautiful name for that little filly. She is as stunning as a magnolia in full bloom. It is a wonderful thing to watch J R and Becca working with both Jewel and Magnolia in such a soft and gentle way. It reminds me very much if my father who was a true horse whisperer. Any time he got on a horse, it came immediately to attention. All he had to do was just sit in the saddle. It was like they were so proud. I love watching you. It brings tears to my eyes. Jewel is taking the saddle ho-hum. She did connect with Becca, but Jewel is not broke. And I agree that starting her from scratch will be fair to her. Give her a chance to think....understand and accept proper handling so bad habits do not enter the picture.

I am a 80 year old woman and I really enjoy your channel. You seem like my neighbor down the street. I check often to see if you have posted anything. You and your daughter remind me so much of me and my dad. When I was young I wanted a horse so much. Unfortunately that was not a option. My dad rescued a horse that was on his way to slaughter. My dad saw something he knew was extraordinary. He was badly injured but we felt we could help him. After many months of care we had a beautiful gaited horse. I went from a girl without hope to a girl showing my beautiful horse to bringing home blue ribbons. I just love your channel so much . I've never owned a horse but have always been fascinated by them and their beauty. We lived in the country when i was a teenager and one of my very first jobs was cleaning out horse stalls with some of my neighborhood friends at a local farmers. Also one of my very best friends in highschool had her very own show horse and to watch the care and practice she put into her horse was simply amazing and so loving. I used to go with her and her family to her shows and it was so much fun watching her compete and bring home plenty of ribbons. I'm now going to be 60 years old this year and so watching your channel sure takes me back to some awesome times as a teenager and i have to say i can truly tell how much ya'll love your horses and I'm so happy i came across your channel. It's so relaxing. One of these days I'm going to have enough money saved up ( I'm on a fixed income ) to donate to ya'lls beautiful family horse farm to maybe even an individual horse like Noah, i believe that's his name, the Clydesdale! Homestead Magnolia is a beautiful foal. Trained with patience and love she will be a magnificent horse when she matures. She also appears very smart, a quick learner. I think she’ll be easy to train and respond well. Jewel, as you know needs love and patience. Start from square one in training. I don’t think she has completely reached her trust threshold. I think she’s still traumatized from the auction. Bless you for saving them.

I wonder if her neck is out of alignment ( needs a chiropractor) and that’s why she goes a bit crazy with the neck flex. It’s interesting to see how a horse that has no training can be way more willing then a horse that has “some” training. Love you guys!!

I want to say that your channel has provided me with a great deal of information on horses. I've never owned nor been near many horses in my life. The only two occasions were 1) as a teenager I used to ride a school friend's mare along the beach bareback (I was so skinny I could never stay in a saddle) and truly enjoyed that wonderful experience. 2) at a fairgrounds where there was a huge horse show, I went into the stall area setup for all the participants. While walking around admiring all the beautiful horses, I came across this lovely little mare. I started talking to her and she came right up to me so I started petting and scratching her around the ears and neck. She apparently liked me so much that when I finally walked away, she pulled her rope out and followed me down the aisle. I heard her owner hollering at me to stop and when I turned around, I was face to chest with this lovely animal. If I had been able and knowledgeable enough to obtain a horse, that woman would have sold that beauty to me because as she said, "my lovely is afraid of most folks but for some reason she connected with you. I felt you would be a perfect person to own her due to your care with her for such a short period of time." I had to decline, but I've never forgotten that after all these years.
