Hi from 🇨🇦. Those controls are super sensitive..perhaps a fingertip touch as opposed to a grip might help ..the fingers and wrist have better motor control than shoulder and biceps..just touch the joysticks with the tips, and use finger instead of arm...🥂 At least until you get used to it.. another way I get used to the controls is to throttle down and play with it for a bit...doing light tasks...and throttle up according to load needs..just don't lug the diesel engine..you won't always need full throttle...Guage it accordingly ..and take advantage of the blade stabling..perhaps consider bolt on extension wings to widen it when needed...and when removing the auger from the hole, stop rotation first beforehand, it'll clear the hole better ..

On some of the mini diggers like that there is a lever to make the tracks wider to make it more stable when you are digger we have them in the UK you can move the tracks in and out when in you can fit threw a door way.

Hello, Just a friendly word of advice, for any of those 'high load' joints you want to use a molybdenum loaded grease of 3-5% content. It will give those joints on your tractor and mini-excavator much longer life spans.
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
Good tip - I will look out for some as I was wondering i the general grease was adequate and it has been a few years sinceI did my apprenticeship when we covered all of that stuff.

@@HomesteadingUncontained Hey, no worries it's an easy mistake to make. I noticed the grease in the joints that did have grease from the factory was pumping out black, so at least those joints the factory used the right grease on the mini-ex. Homesteader in ky. Only thing I'd of done differently is pulled the tractor bucket up next to the hole so I didn't have to pack the post. Then raise the bucket and it would of tilted right in the hole. I'd of tamped the dirt in the bottom with the post in to stabilize the post more, and also cut the post off flat at the bottom. Still a good job though. It'll hold.

You need to use 2000kg ratchet straps to tie down the machine, front and back when moving your excavator. It looks heavier than the tractor. Hi Jim, yes it is the neighbours. They all seem to limp and the sheep are no better. But they have been doing it for generations (the same surnames in the village since the 1600's) so you would have to assume they know what they are doing or they cannot be bothered anymore.... hope it is the first.

A lot of construction equipment has a metal collar welded around grease fittings to protect them when digging and they do the same thing on the wheels to protect the valve stem. If that metal collar fills up with dirt then you could use a double female nipple welded around the valve stem or grease zerk and put a screw in plug in it. Then you will have to take that one plug out to grease that nipple instead of having to take out a plug and screw in a zerk fitting to grease, and reverse the process every time.

Interesting. The only two things I have picked up on is that the scraper doesn't seem to have much raising height. On a slope the blade digs into the ground and the other being that the lever seems to get in the way of your right leg.

I have noticed this - I will check it out to see if I can modify it a little.

This may have been mentioned before but you can put stilts on the tailgate of your trailer to keep it from tipping down that way. When the tailgate is down the stilts will be close to ground level so when you drive out it won't be lifting the back of your other tractor off the ground. On flat ground, the way you have it will not make much difference. But if you try to unload on a hillside and that trailer is going to lift the back of the tractor and the whole thing's going to go rolling down the hill. With those legs on the tailgate of the trailer it'll also make it possible to load and unload the trailer without being hooked up to another vehicle. Or you could just put blocks behind the trailer wheels when you unload on a hillside. I used to have a small trailer that had drop legs mounted at the back end of the frame. I just loosen the screws and drop the legs and tighten the screw to do the same thing so I can load and unload the trailer without having it hooked up to a truck.

I do have drop downs - I have mastered it now and put it on and off the trailer with no problem.

That cow at 12:17 looks like it might have a hoof abscess. Love the excavator content though!

If you have a throttle control just slow it down a bit and itll be less jerky till you get used to the speed.

Put the blade to the back and put it down,it'll give you more stability when pushing down as well as using the machines own weight to assist 👌🏼👍🏻🤘🏻

Yes, I have started to do that, specially if the land is sloping downwards. I am getting the feel for it now. Thanks for the comments.

You should be either burning or scorching the outside of the pole. You put under ground to keep it from rotting, or put some sort of tar on the polls to keep them water resistant underground.

We will be doing on the "proper" fencing at the off grid plot. This was just a tester for the auger and the post is still standing all on its own 😀 i.e no other posts.

"That was easy" enjoy it while it's new :) You'll be using a drift and sledgehammer eventually.

Suggestion when using logs for post de-bark them so they don't rot as fast.

Cheers Wayne - yes, that was just a tester. We will for the main fencing and maybe burn them a little too. Cheers for watching. 👍🏻

I wanted to share with you regarding O-Rings (you referred to them as "seals". I'm sure just a culture thing ;-) ) There is a snap-on kit (not entirely necessary but used the brand name as an example) for making o-rings. It comes with a few different diameter and different material lengths and a flush-cutting razorblade tool. You measure the circumference of the o-ring you need and the diameter of the actual rubber 'cylinder', and then super-glue the two flat-cut ends together. I'm to understand this works VERY well for o-rings, especially captured ones, like in your hydraulic system. There's no where for the rubber to go and the super glue just holds the two ends together in a round shape. Works great, especially at a homestead when the parts store is more than just a quick drive away!

I will look out for this kit - I am always needing o rings as I have other kit and some very old kit thatI can't find anything for.

I tried to share a link but it looks like youtube doesn't like links to other websites! I google searched "O ring making kit" and got a bunch of 'correct' results. Don't panic at the $130 kits! They're not necessary. just keep poking around, you can find them for about $30 usd.

When you still stop the auger and raise it and spin the dirt away from the hole.

Boy, could I ever use that little digger around here . Bears have decided they want an easier path to the fruit trees and knocked down part of the deer fence .

That is one thing on the list. But it is rare I put this auger on for short periods of time. But Tree Change Farmer did a video on his mini ex where he changes them to quick release. 👍🏻

Should be able to get ahold of the manufacturer to send you a pdf manual. Thats what I did. Personally prefer if there was vids on all the attachments and general maintenance.

Thank you for the video IBC code The depth of the footing is 1/6 the pole length. 120 cm pole x 1/6=20cm So actually you need a 140 cm pole Because 20 cm will be buried. Take care
