Congratulations on the new calf. We came out at 6:45 Monday morning to take my son to the bus and heard the mom moo. Female calf standing behind her.

Nice video. Your assessing of the birth of the new calf is like humans assessing the Apgar scoring system. 👍🏼Thanks for sharing your homestead.

Does Honeybee have Johne's? I remember you saying it was endemic in your herd. Could you address this on a future vlog please?
@oggie3815Ай бұрын
#askHomesteady With this they hashtag they may be able to see your question about Johne's in the herd and if it is still an issue they are dealing with and maybe to be able to answer others questions about Luna. She might have been the 1 that had Johne's 1st.
@HomesteadyshowАй бұрын
No, never said Johne’s was endemic in our herd, none of these cows have tested positive and we do regular testing. We have delt with disease in the past, but we regularly monitor and mitigate for disease control.

During my pregnancies I always crave milk too! Can just chug the stuff. Also I lol'd pretty hard about having to say "vulva". Doesn't matter how many videos I make about calving/breeding/etc. I always feel like I'm in 7th grade health class having to say it.😆

I think the expression about being happy as a clam is because a clam's shells come together and it looks like a smile.
@mediumfastАй бұрын
The full phrase is "Happy as a clam at high water." Meaning safe and having what you need to thrive. Clams get collected by fishermen and predators at low tide.

Interesting! Now I feel stupid. I almost always regret commenting on KZbin videos, and this is no exception! Ha.

I wonder about the whole family tree. I remember when they got Ladybug, but have only been watching sporadically, so I don't remember all of them or how they're related.

I was raised on a farm and I hated the raw/fresh milk. I would eat my cereal dry and drink water.

I'm here to cast a vote to normalize the word "vulva", in humans too ✅ It's simple and inoffensive.
@tiffanyguynn8852Ай бұрын
So you were not milking the new mom before calving?
@paigeseliger836Ай бұрын
Pretty standard not to, at least at their scale in the US. Not sure about the places with hundreds or thousands of cows though
