Okay, finally uploading this here! This song seemed so fitting for homestuck and I really am attached to all of these characters, I wanted to contribute something emotional to the fandom to show that so here's what came out of it.

I wish it had ended with the entire comic restarting, but from the ending going to the beginning. That way, nobody would've died. The thing with that would be, though, that everybody would keep their memories from all the things that happened in the entire series, so they would all remember each other. I know I'm almost eight years late, but it would've been a more satisfying ending.

After years of actively trying to avoid Homestuck, I’ve decided to return to it. And thus, this. I’m too tired to go on a long rant about this, but I realized I’m missed this. This video in particular would always leave me in tears and unsatisfied feeling of hope in a strange world I’ve been lost in for years. Rewatching it, after having be filed away in the depths of my mind for quite some time, has left me with the comfortable taste of nostalgia on my tongue and that unsatisfied feeling… but this time, I’m more hopeful (and determined) then ever. I’ve seen for myself how far I’ve come in my journey, and I can’t wait to see how far I’ll go. Thank you so much for the memories.

Videos like this really make me just want to go back in time and demand to my younger self to read Homestuck during 2009. I just wish I grew up with Homestuck, I want to experience all the times HS Vets have waited and I want to go on this adventure along side with the characters. I remember watching this video for the first time at my lowest point in life. My best friends had left me, I was thousands of miles from home and anyone I actually knew and I was bankrupt, unable to even afford to eat. I had never even heard of Homestuck at the time and had no idea what it even was, I thought it was an anime about 4 kids playing a video game online and the characters in suits were their avatars, that their game was falling apart and they were saving something precious to them. It made me want to see what the game was and to play it myself. I remember seeing the trolls and thinking they were baddies or entities in the game, like really clever AI or something and the image of Karkat angry at his pc stuck in my mind, probably being foiled in his dastardly plans or whatever, Vriska looking devious at the screen stuck too, the PM I thought was just some angel or heavenly guardian or something fending off the evil autonomously or alongside the kids and Jade with all the planets was making a last ditch effort to align the elements and unleash glorious hell upon their rapidly dying online world in a final effort to save it or something, as the image of the battlefield falling apart with Jadesprite and Davesprite looking on in terror absolutely shook me at the time. I then began reading, and it truly saved me, the humor, the genius and the fandom, and I keep finding myself watching this video, thinking on how far we've come now and it still gives me tingles Praise unto Hussie that glorious bastard for making me so unbelievably glad to be Homestuck trash =]

When homestuck was at its peak I was (qnd still am) into Warriors, a big fandom that operated similarly. Seeing all of this be someone else's childhood is defenitely a lot of secondhand nostalgia, especially since even if I didn't know what it was, I saw it, I was still there. I also have very close friends who were into it and the addition of people I'm close to having huge nostalgia for it adds to it

This video kept me company for countless nights of tears in high school, when a silly little webcomic was the only light in my life, and a dumb blog was the only place I felt safe to be myself. Nearly a decade later, a friend played this song on shuffle, and couldn't comprehend my reaction. I barely know if I understand it myself... But, here I am, back again. No longer a scared and lonely 14 year old girl, but a successful 25 year old woman. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to feel the excitement of opening my laptop to my homepage (Homestuck, of course) and seeing that there was an update while I was sleeping, or at school, or the frustration of the Megapause, or the comradery of artists and writers on Tumblr who kept these stories going in the meantime... My heart feels both empty and so full knowing that those times have ended. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened, right? Thank you.

GUilherme junior Actually, Hussie used user-submitted commands all the way until Act 3 (-ish) before the fandom became too large for him to continue on that way. He knew the general direction he wanted HS to take, but he still used reader commands to shape the shenanigans. In fact, all 4 beta kids were named by fans. For John, he chose the first name submission, for Rose, the 2nd, Dave, the 3rd, and Jade, the 4th.

Y'know, I'm fully aware that Homestuck 2 is out and happening, but it still feels... Different. The original, it's over. It's done. I look back and I see so much. The friends I've made, the laughter I've had, the tears I've shed. This comic, this dumb, beautiful comic. It changed me. Maybe not my life, but me. Shaped who I was, shaped my creativity. I can tell you right now, I wouldn't be confident enough to share my works if I wasn't first inspired by Homestuck to give me that push towards greatness. Idk, I'm not making much sense. All in all, I just wanted to say... Thanks. It's been a good run.

It's good to see this video still up after all these years. I joined the fandom in 2015 so at that point there wasnt much Homestuck left for me to experience as it happened, but it's videos like these that I guess sort of helped make up for lost time. I still love Homestuck and it'll always have a special place in my heart
