Great video. As I'm going thru this music journey, every day I'm learning new things. This helped to hear things and address then fix them after master.

Great video, more of these please! Many thanks. On a side note I don't have any Fabfilter plugins, I have the full suite of Tokyo Dawn Labs plugins and I must say the Nova GE is a magnificent eq that in my opinion is every bit as good (if not better) than than the Pro-EQ from all I've seen of it. 😎

This is awesome! Can’t believe it doesn’t have more views. I was discussing recently how the only time I’ve used Mastering in Studio One was to burn a CD. Usually I just mix the song down to MP3 as that’s how most devices play them. I put a lot of time into gain staging, mixing and balancing so for a single song I’m not getting why to “master” it. Thoughts? BTW Joe your song sounded fine until he pointed it out and corrected it then a light came on and I was like Oh yes of course.THIS is why another pair of ears is helpful. You listen to this thing from conception through recording, mixing tweaking and retweaking and it’s hard (for me) to hear the somewhat subtle differences. Glad you got out all what’s in your head! 😃

All these songs arriving for mastering around - 10, - 11lufs! My finished mastering is -11lufs generally. Maybe I should turn my monitoring down.

The cymbals are too loud and brassy at 30:23 . I know it's tough to EQ the whole mix . Needed to be fixed in the mix for sure.

Vinyl and casette tapes deals with intermission that’s what it’s similar between vinyl vs casette the difference vinyl don’t have a skip ⏭ while cassette tapes does have a skip ⏭ button. But vinyl and cassette tapes does have intermission but cd 💿 don’t have any intermission but to me I think album sequencing is not lost but according to the article I think everybody should stay on the song not skip ⏭ the track but grant from pc3 told me that I don’t believe album sequencing is a lost art. I still listen to albums from beginning to end and I am not alone. It’s super important! But it is true to say that fewer people are listening to albums from beginning to end. Many seem to prefer listening to single songs, or a playlist created by themselves or other people.

I’ve had record players that do have a skip or seek functionality. It’s the type that loads like a CD and could “see” the larger groove gaps between songs. Some of these you do not need to turn the record over as it had a head on both sides. 😃

@@darryldouglas6004 true but vinyl and casette tapes had intermission while cd don’t.

@@Songwritersbehindthecurtainxcept for Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever where he acknowledges that it’s the point of the album where a vinyl listener would have to turn the album over and adds a “intermission”. Some recordings were ordered differently because of this. The original master tapes would not have this intermission as they are continuous like a CD. To get the original flow you’d have to have a reel to reel which would be analogous to the original studio recording. The order was changed for vinyl or cassette.

Hello, please help me with installing presonus studio live 24.4.2, we want to connect it to Windows 7, we bought a FireWire board and installed it on a PC. We installed UControl, Capture, the computer saw the mixer itself, turned on Capture and set one track to record. we see the wave that we recorded, but there is no sound. there is no sound at all, the PC recognizes the mixer but there is no sound, although we see the waves. Help me how can I connect so that there is sound? it works fine on Mac, but not on PC, I need it on PC
