Hubris. Gluttony is a very disgusting identity it relies on taking advantage of those weaker than itself far too much. Humiliation is a detterant, and so is a thoughtful heart and mind. Those who are humble have many who would die for them without asking, while those who would request will be left holding their spears alone. Greed is a state of derangement and not a rational state of mind. It's a state of mind that detours it from restraint when restraint, maybe the only truly viable option. Afrika has pleasant environment and resources that support all of the population. When you do not have a mindset of survival, you can develop other things that support community .I think the more hostile the environment with resource scarcity, you develop a dog eat dog mentality, you develop a mindset to steal and plunder at all costs, eventually collectively join in numbers for tribal survival. Certainly this was a contributing factor.
@miguelcastro8506

The main historical vulnerability with Africa's militaristic strength has been: "guns, germs & steel." Slightly beneath that compendium was the fact that many African countries considered themselves to be empires instead of segments of an 'intertwined-cohesive-continent.' Europe as a whole eventually considered Africa to be a Black continent ripe for the picking. So in other words this "Black continent" because of it's diversity & divisions were oblivious to the dangers of isolated weaknesses in their individual empires. Had they all collectively anticipated something like the "Berlin Conference" they could've better prepared for the eventual onslaught of European treachery.

Yes because even with the division in africa it was still hard for Europeans to take the whole continent. They couldn't even make a real attempt until they had certain advances in medicine weaponry and just tech in general. Plus they still had to use enemy ethnic groups against each other. Had the varying groups coordinated with each other they would have been able to repel the europeans (and others). But hind sight 20/20 and I don't think they understood who and what they were up against until it was to late.

This is really interesting, I don't think even South Asia or Southeast Asia has this much diversity density. There are hundreds of languages and dialects, but they are close enough to be learned by an interpreter who knows one language in a particular region. I think that in the ancient world, high diversity density was more common across the world. As the size of kingdoms grew, many languages would be abandoned in favour of one standard to facilitate governance and trade. I would be curious to know if you think that there are geographical or other factors that have contributed to the high density of languages in Africa below the Sahara.

Its directly related to genetics....African we are so old. A group such as Pygmies are thousands of years older While KHOISAN are far older than Pygmies and then the Nilotes comes in second. Language is directly related to genetics and Africans are so diverse, non related and groups are older while some are very young...Bantu's are the youngest groups in Africa and today the most numerous and widespread. So all these groups dont share anything in common...other that FORCED identity that Europeans gave to us ie "Sub-Saharan" or African!! @@tylerrobbins8311 Right, I think they lacked the incentive. In order for Africa to have got expansionist mindsets the already huge kingdom's would've had to take on other ethnic groups and wipe out their language and culture and adopt them to the big successful expansionist tribe, they would've had to keep doing this to smaller groups, they definitely would've had a harder time doing it to large groups, but they could've worked side by side with larger groups. Ultimately this would've had to happen a long time ago when many of them groups were way smaller and not so scattered because as the other's would've seen whats happening they would've just run off and still would've settled elsewhere and kept getting larger since they didn't have to depend on hunting as much for food with crops and keeping live stock and fishing for seafood. So i agree Africa was way too dense with diversity, cultures, languages, different spiritual practices. Hell, in the Ashante kingdom there was another Kingdom that big they ended up conquering them though and adopting them into that culture even though they come from the same people, they had a different ethnic group though. Europeans really succeeded because as you said Europe is not that big and not that densely populated, even when they did have different ethnic groups with different languages they had large Kingdoms not more than one in different countries, plus Europeans invaded the shit outta each other and they wiped languages out and adopted one language for most countries. i think of all European countries Russia is more diverse than all of them because they have way more different ethnic groups and languages, but even they don't have that much, plus Russian did take control of many Eastern nations plus those nations still have no where close to the amount of languages African has, so it was easy to spread the Russian language but they kept their own too. Russia had expansionist mindset, but only in Europe they've been allies to African, south America and other nations of color because they too have all the natural resources that's the maine reason they developed the expansionist mindset they were trying to protect themselves from the other Europeans. Now look what's going on toady Russia is being blocked in by Nato, and the propaganda that's been sprad about Russia for 100s of years is confusing some ethnic groups in his nation, his people that believe the lies don't understand what evil empire they're up against and wonder why the Russian government is strict on their people. Putin trying to protect the Russian empire. During the Europeans expansionist into Africa Russia never wanted anything to do with it, because they have their own resources, they don't need to steal from other nations, Putin and the ex leaders know the history of those barbarian Europeans and what they done to damn near the entire world. He knows they want his resources for European nations so they can divide it. Russia is the only European nation that fought other greedy Europeans, tried to free other nations of color and teach them how to develop nuclear power for protection. Africnan nations that refused to become Russian allies have learers that are puppets with no backbone. Look how they're still blocking all trade for Haiti out of spite for becoming a free black nation and Cuba for resisting Imperialism and booting out a dictatorship. Cuba looks stuck in the 60s, Haiti collapsed they're starving and no president. Lastly Europe is the babies of the world, they haven't been on earth long enough, Asia is definitely a densely populated place, but its still not as dense as Africa with languages, cultures, tribes. Asia has way more birth defects even though its a pretty diverse place, but they was conqured as well and many countries are now allies of America and Europe they just aren't invading countries, not that they wouldn't they couldn't because they have China and other Asian nations that are enemies, that aren't only pissed they're allies for America, but their enemies have expansionist ideas and still despise America and its allies for invading their nations, drawing up borders. China had a lot land into India and Taiwan was apart of china alon with other places, China had a huge empire. I think Vietnam, of course North Korea and china has always been allies china's guerilla war fighters helped push British, American and other soldiers out of North Korea and that was one of the worst attacks on the US, British and Canadian soldiers they imprisoned them worked them to death, only a handful was released back to America. It was 1,000 soldiers.

My point is Europeans are responsible for racism, slave trade just as much as the germans(nazi regime)are responsible for the holocaust. It's the same logic.

Monetary system more specifically role of colonial french union which sends funds first to France and from there it comes back to africans who were mostly their former colonies. Colonial Frank is similar to reserve colony there. All the mo ING operations are owned by french companies who just lecture them about human rights but don't allow any real economic development. Independent governments are not allowed to africans. They are kept poor by one excuse if a war or another. Usually supported by one form of gunboat diplomacy or another. Yes africans themselves are to blame as well we can't keep on blaming others.

Imagine an "invasion" with no weapons and not taking power. What Africans/black people do is magnified in the imagination of those who do not want explain the differences. Taking land, deleting people, and stealing resources is called 'conquering' and expanding territory, but Africans migrating for better opportunities because colonization still exists and their leaders are still puppets (under the control of colonizers) is called 'invading'? Interesting.

@@VlogginTherapyColonialism created the preconditions for the African population explosion. It did so by suppressing pre-colonial wars and jihads, abolishing slavery, and initiating the first public health campaigns. The result was that life expectancy increased by 15 years and population doubled over the colonial period. Africa gained its independence in Stage II of the demographic transition, with high birth rates and falling death rates. That has continued and has fueled the outmigration.
