Kalenjin lived in East Africa for over 2000 yrs before migrating to ancient Egypt. Where they produce the pharaohs of Egypt. After dynasty fail, and battles from internal elements with external they migrated towards Yemen. Where they stayed for over 1000yrs where they migrated back through horn of Africa via northern Somalia, Ethiopia/kenya region to Turkana where they dispersed till Elgon where last dispersal to present day areas occurred.

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my culture,it means alot.just to add.kalenjin were monotheist they worshipped a supreme God called Asis.with many attributes for example;Cheptalel(controller of all things)chebonomi(giver of life)chepokipkoyo(God the protector)chepomirchiio(God who oversees armed forces)chepkeelyen sogol(the omnipresent God)chepokimapai(God the controller of the harvest)tororot(God the most high)etc.so it wasn't really the sun but a supreme being. We also see kalenjin wisemen mentioned in the bible the three wise men.in kalenjin there are wise men with special instinct abilities who can read the stars.the koromerik and kipsomoguk. The kalenjin during pre-colonial period had a well organized social, economic and political organization with well structured central government. The religious system were well organized and the religious practices were strictly adhered to which in turn leads to a well rounded person in all aspects that is mind, body and spirit. The reasons for Kalenjin migration from Egypt were; search of greener pastures, drought, hostile neighbouring communities, disease outbreaks, enslavement and to fulfill myths of their fore fathers. And in particular attacked by powerful invaders called kipyayamungen who were white.

Brother you are doing a great job but let me add another thing; The Kalenjins were soldiers in the house of pharaoh, the father of Kalenjins was called Odongo who was a twin brother of Opiyo. Opiyo was the first to come out, the Sudanese, Balanta, Yoruba, Luos, Acholis, Padhola, Teso, Tursi Jarawa and Fulani came from Opiyo the twin brother of Odongo. Odongo was the second to come out, the Kalenjins, lang'os ,Maasais, Turkanas, Karamajongs came from Odongo. These family were the soldiers of Egypt. These were the builders of the Piramids. These Nilotes are the real Cushites, King Menes cames from this family. Their last rulership was 25th dynasty. These were the Kings of the Nile

Some of the information here is misleading. The Kenyan census 2019 which was released in Feb. 2020 places Kalenjins at position 3 with about 6,358,113 people. Some of the photos in the video (especially the coloured ones of boys/men) are not Kalenjins. Those were taken recently when the Kalenjins had moved from that lifestyle/dressing. I know most of the Kalenjins here have not questioned this because they are mostly from the south and are thinking that those must be the Kalenjins from the north. I was born and grew up in the north-north rift and those people in the photos are not Pokot, Marakwet, Sabaot/Sebei or whatever... they could be Turkana, Karamojong, or from south- eastern Ethiopia, or Kunama from Eritrea, etc.

The Nilotic group of pple migrated from ancient Egypt. They have so many Egyptian hierologriphics words in their languages. There were even Bantus who lived in Egypt after the Assyrian Captivity. Cushites too lived in Egypt for hundreds of yrs. Some tribes say they came on foot and some by canoes by the Nile river. When white pple and arabs say they are ancient Egyptians and Hebrews I laugh until I sit on the floor. The Kalenjin resisted colonial rule and the British killed their leader. You did a very good research. A little bit more information is that the Kalenjin are one of the communities who led the longest resistance against the British rule in East Africa. From 1894 to 1905. They were led by their Supreme leader Koitalel Arap Samoei. Their leader Koitalel ended up being killed by one bloodthirsty Briton soldier Richard Meinnerzhagen in Oct 1905. This devastated the community and led to them being driven into reserves to allow the White settlers to occupy the Uasin Gishu plateau. For more information you can read Kenya Diaries 1901-1905 by Richard Meinertzhagen.

The people shown in the picture are not Kalenjin. It's Turkana attire that. Plus Kalenjin believe they left Yisrael after Kipyamugen (Romans/Assyrians) attacked and took over their land during pharaoh Kipcheum around 90AD. There is also an oral history on the division of red sea to allow the people cross a flood (sea) when they were being pursued by their fierce neighbors. Finally, the dialect of the Kalenjin has also borrowed heavily from the ancient Egyptians (Nubians) who they had numerous interactions and both live in Kenya today. This is an account of Kalenjin elders who also have a strong claim of them being one of the 'lost' tribes of Israel and still practice some Torah and culture today.

Blacks in the diaspora are connected to East Africa. Just before the slave trade, some tribes in East Africa moved from East to West Africa. And these East African tribes also had previously migrated from the Middle East areas (today's Israel, Lebanon, etc) down to Ethiopia and on to Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Congo. Most African tribes have this in their oral history. The Akan people of Ghana, for example, have it in their history that they moved from East to West Africa. Igbo people are also related to some tribes in East Africa. That is why the cultures and words of some West African tribes are very similar to some in East Africa. And if you cross check this against secular history of what happened to the Israelites, you will find out that the Israelites indeed moved to differewnt parts of Africa when they were fleeing Roman persecution.

Can I be annoying for a sec?...I'll go ahead anyway😊 If you ever watch track events and hear or see someone's name that has the prefix Jep- or Kip- they are from this tribe. There are other names but this is usually quite common.

@@lisamedla Most boys shed the Kip after circumsion (which unlike the west, happens around the time you hit puberty not after birth). Well thats what used to happen but these days many people just keep the Kip- prefix because its a hassle to change all your documents legally (I didnt change mine). the Che or Je prefix (pronunciation varies with sub-tribe) is for girls and they keep it for life.

I knew some of the things you just mentioned but the whole prehestory before Kenya the part about having come from Egypt i didn't know. I suspected the Luo people having some roots in egypt especially when you check on how they name each other based on day time, night etc. maybe you should do some research on them in relation to the pharaoh ahmose.
