Your teacher is paying attention! This is more accurate than I have ever seen in a classroom...not that there was much African history in my HS classes, in the 1990s! We need to see all of the racism BS, today, for what it is(political agenda) and move on from it for good. Classrooms require a balance of classic, medieval, and ancient history, from the entire world. It's a beginning of building respect and administration for people who are different, or even for your own people!

They asked everyone in that neighboring town but they all said that they left few days ago, slave trade was very common during those times so the whole family feared that they've been taken. They never stopped searching for them and up until now my grandfather who's in his early 90s still asks us his grandkids to continue spreading this message hoping that one day he'll hear some good news.

Your work is tremendous. Imagery is so powerful. The display of artwork and the music in the background impeccable. In addition the display of the manner of dress the true mark of any people's humanity. It penetrates the conscious as well as the subconscious mind. You explain the vastness and diversity and the beauty of African culture. You explain how the colonial powers were able to exploit this diversity to suit their own needs. The good, the bad and the ugly. Truthfulness in its purest form.A continent of such highly intelligent people capable of forming vast empires and kingdoms. A continent at constant conflicts with itself. Constant warfare. In essence no different than displayed throughout European and Asian history.I am glad that the narrator has the foresight to find out his maternal and paternal ancestry and then do diligent research to share with the rest of the world. Instilling in himself a greater sense of self, confidence and respect and accomplishment. And in turn embrace others who look like him without fear and trepidation at a subconscious and conscious level. As an African American am I just beginning to understand the profound psychological damage done to our people once they stepped upon America's shores. But there is hope for our people to repair the damage. It is going to be a long and painful process of trial and error. We cannot expect our people to be of sound mind and body simply through American mainstream institutions. After school the children of Muslims go to the mosque every day of the week. Same with the children of the Jewish people. They go to the synagogue. Where do our children go after school? Where do our children go on Sunday besides church. We must require our children, wherever they can congregate during their free time and immerse them in our history en masse at an early age as possible. Starting with tools such as these type of videos. Such images alone become part of the subconscious mind.Something that I observed while visiting Japan for three straight summers in the mid to late 1960s.Its ancient ceremonies and history incorporated into everyday life and activities even in the most subtle of ways. Things that Japanese children are exposed to at an early age. We must not allow our children to create in their minds solely the image of the "perp walk" and nothing else.

For example, the U.S. has a history of oppressing Native Americans, Asians, Blacks, and it dropped the bomb on Japan (Hiroshima), stole California from the Mexicans (paid a cheap price for it); don't think these people groups will not turn on the caucasoids when the time is right.

It is what makes the internet a miracle, and I am very grateful!

As a black man, it's said that the true history of the slave trade is NEVER taught. You know...the part where black Africans, sold millions of other black Africans to the European slave traders. The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade would not have been possible without that aspect of it. We need to teach REAL history to people. And that goes for EVERYBODY. We need to teach what really happened throughout history, and stop trying to distort it, change it, or omit it, in order to not offend people, or tell people what they want to hear.

@@Ispeakthetruthify Exactly pal.It was a triangular trade. Unfortunately all the chiefs of Africa had as worthy currency at the time where other enslaved Africans.

@@Ispeakthetruthify the trades amongst African natives already existed and totally different system. The natives served as servants and status could change by marrying non servants, buying, appeal through court or free children etc. it was never by choice and usually by survival. The middlemen were also subjected to deceit. No one was without capture and middlemen from history several rebellious attempts against the Europeans. You may want to dig in deeper and look up historians like Walter Rodney and read sins of fathers James pope Hennessy. You need additional resources to stand on what you said. To help you out direct quote from Walter Rodney "“A racist streak is never far from the surface in bourgeois presentations on the problems of development, because non-European people are equated with backwardness and stagnation, while progress in uniquely European. It would be simple to ignore such a misconception if it were merely held by the bigoted oppressors, but the racist historical experience has implanted the same negative self-evaluation in the minds of many Africans, and especially in the minds of the imitative African petty bourgeoisie.” I will forever quote this historian as well as author. He was assassinated...should assassins you ask you know. There were authors as well forced to change the narrative and Blame slave trade on African chiefs such as James pope Hennessy-"sins of our fathers. Yes a known fact historians were told to focus on the native Africans being the main contributors of the slave trade. It's very irresponsible for you not to state your source when there's plenty throughout history. The irony of who you're responding to with this info is beyond me.

If you're black nobody from Detroit was freaked out by your presence. Black people are use to seeing other black people in a city like Detroit. Canada is not America and I believe the black population there is no more than 2 to 3 percent. and Though America has never been more than 13 percent black,. Detroit is a city that has a high concentration of black folks. So it would seem like there are more than a 12 to 13 percentage of blacks there and that we all live in Detroit, MI in the States, which isn't true.
