you mentioned wanting to know what weapons each ship has. If you select a single ship, in the unit info window in the lower left, hover over the red box and it will tell you how many weapons it has and what they are. There's a short description of what they are good against, but no numbers or stats to compare different weapons.

What a mess. Whole match was a scramble from the get go. The maps, while very cool and novel, was was too small. Graphics and music/sounds are the best things about this. This is a wait for sale for me

God imagine the maps were bigger with plethoras of open space with regions like the ice shelf somewhere on the map. - and resources were more scarce - and construction was the 2nd game - and combat was like the 2nd game - and movement was like the 2nd game - and this game was mostly just the 2nd game with better graphics

i love how the top of the battlecruisers looks like the homeworld 2 battlecruisers but then you look at the underside and it has some chunk to it

I think the key point is to always be building ships. At the start you should have just queued up like 50 interceptors and recons and at some point you were so focused on frigates that you had no fighter class or corvette ships at all.

Gotta say, I was so excited for this game... but as I was ready to buy it, i saw the mixed review score. Decided to check it out and found alot of issue with the EULA. They essentially give themselves the authority to collect all of your data... home address, name, other personal identifiers, IP and MAC address, credit card/payment and background monitoring... and do just about whatever they want with it... Now I know this is not an unusual occurrence in this day and age, but this coupled with the blatant threat levied in the EULA of them revoking your game access for what they seem to list as "reasons" and giving no recourse (depending on where you live) isnt something I can get behind.... Sad to say that I'll be avoiding it and will have to make due watching youtubers play it I guess, cause its not gonna change

Yo, it would be pretty cool to see you check out another space RTS called Nebulous Fleet Command. It's quickly become my favorite strategy game of all time, although just a warning it is multiplayer focused as opposed to single player. I'd recommend you grab a buddy who's familiar with the game if you do decide to try it as there's a lot to learn. I promise though it's worth it, no other game can compete once it clicks.

I would think the Taidani Republic would be more likely to appear. After all the loyalists have been taking nothing but Ls for a while. Add in the century of dominance from the Hiigaran empire I doubt much is left of the loyalists.

I know how that growling feels. Was playing Deserts of Kharak. Got to...mission 5. Easiest difficulty. All research and Artifacts I could have had at that point (as far as I know). Nothing went to plan. Went bankrupt. Had to try and fight with all my utility vehicles and the main carrier. Decided to just rage quit and come back when I'm not angry. Probably not gonna use the persistent forces feature. I do _not_ know what I'm doing.

That battlecruiser spawning after the construction bay opens up kind of destroys immersion...why did they program it like this? Homeworld 1s launch sequence was better.

very very fun game, heres a tip for war games....use swarm tactics, queue like 50+ inters, recon, some plasma corvettes and make sure youre using formations...best one for swarm is the circle, youll need to be fast btw or get swarmed by destroyers which are nigh impossible to deal with im only lvl 10 also after 100 or so matches only getting 1k xp each time cause i keep failing

The torpedo frigate is still a thing. See the build menu. The equivalent to the pulsar gunship should be the railgun corvette.

unfortunately was not at all impressed by the release. the campaign was mid and the writing of it was heinous. the cinematics looked weird and clunky and the multiplayer only has two factions as of right now. i even had issues with ui scaling. the only things that i was interested in was the improved graphics and the new cover system. super disappointed since im a huge HW fan and i've been looking forward to the title for six or seven years, or however long it has been since they announced development. i dont know if anyone else feels the same way but it feels like a fourth-rate RTS wearing homeworld's skin.

I actually agree in part with this. Huge HW fan and there is a lot of little things this game misses out on tbh. The camera control feels clunky, zoom out is weird. And you can't even lock onto missiles with the camera anymore. I know small things. But it feels less like a big open space RTS now and more an E sports thing ... Gameplay is also super fast paced too. This engine with Homeworld 2. Yeah. I'd take that. Also I'm not a huge fan of individual units. I liked building a squadron in one go. Idk. I know what you mean. It's just not. Homeworld. But it is. Feels unfinished.

Additional factions are likely gonna be derivatives of Incarnate and Hiigaran fleets with specific bonuses like some "factions" in command and conquer. lol, no way they add unique factions with the mess this game is compared to its predecessors. Let alone the fact there is NO campaign room for real aliens.

Even once players start waking up, it will take the AAA industry a long time to change, because the higher ups would LOVE to abuse planned obsolescence to make more (short term) profits.

Capital ships are too small in HW3 compared to the huge battlecruiser and destroyer in HW2, meh.

the capital ships in HW2 are made in the shipyard, this is harkened back towards HW1 scale capitals with the destroyer and heavy cruiser directly out of the mothership (thus cant make battlecruisers since no shipyard). Though I would like to see the heavy cruiser in hw3 better armed than it is currently.

Of all the sins HW3 commits, having your single player skirmish session stopping due to loss of connection to gearboxes servers is an unforgivable design choice. I'm glad I didn't pre-order or day 1 purchase this. It seem to be a crappy rts wearing a homeworld skin suit. Tragic.

I have yet to have a performance issue on max graphics with a relatively old PC, have yet to dip under 110 fps even in big 3v3 fights. The game does have directional armor, appearing to be both rear and frontal armor arcs. Ballistics are simulated for rockets, missiles, large guns, and even the smaller ciwis guns. (though in terms of balance, the ranging of all weapons is incredibly strange) The pathfinding could use work you are correct particularly when in formation around megastructures, and especially in tunnels, though given that HW1 and HW2 lacked any major terrain features I put this as a net neutral. Brain dead plot is spot on, though I did find the campaign gameplay enjoyable. EULA is also a big concern.

There are plenty of single player games worth 60$... but they are usually much cheaper than that. Often in the 20$ range. Some of the best ones, like Cataclysm Bright Nights, are completely free.
